North of Humble, ( pronounced, umble, silent H, ) should be pretty safe from the storm surge. Maybe local flooding from rain but nothing severe. Maybe some wind damage. Humble is just on the outer edge of where the hills start and mucho trees. They should be pretty well protected.

We'll make a decision tomorrow after we see the size/intensity/location. We are prepared. If we do leave I'll have the laptop with me but don't know about connectivity wherever we go and if we go. We're quite a bit West of downtown Houston and kind of on a plain that is higher than downtown. Maybe local flooding but not from storm surge. Maybe wind damage. The biggest concern would be the tornadoes that are spawned. Son is in Austin. Maybe we'll pay him a visit.

I don't look forward to driving to Austin with then having to spend an extended period with the DIL. :-) Son, ( her husband, ) is out of town for the week and wouldn't be able to get back here until Saturday but that is doubtful now so I'm going to get stuck with her, her son and their dog.

What have I done to deserve this?

ROFL

Hoping you don't have to evacuate then. LOL! Have laptop will travel. I seriously DON'T like hearing about tornadoes. Brother and family have one of those huge, usually dry, ditch thingys out behind their house a ways.
