Hey, HiJinx!

Yeah, it was hard to get Mexican food at Laughton Barracks, too. The commissary did have frozen dinners from El Chico and we thought they were wonderful...that is till we got back home! LOL! Our parents sent us cans of Wolf Brand Chili--the only brand to eat!! Yummy!

In the late 80's, I spent 7 long, horrible months in southern Ohio (it was back when my late sister was fatally ill and I was going to try and stay there and be there for her, but couldn't handle it) and was going through severe Tex-Mex food withdrawl. Anyway, it got so bad someone told me about what was supposed to be a good Mexican food restaurant in Portsmouth, and I was so desperate I went.

GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAG!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was so disappointed I literally burst into tears. I arrived in Ohio 5'8" and 125 pounds. I went home to Texas, still 5'8", but 95 pounds. I gained back 10 the first week by hitting Mini Taco everyday and eating 2 orders (3 tavos each) of their puffy beef tacos with guacamole on top.
