Cable records everything you watch.If you are watching this program hosted by Ellen Degeneres they have a recording of that.Call your cable company.If you like Ellen Degeneres this is good because you are adding to her ratings.

Frankly, I've been a bit disappointed so far. TQ didn't win best supporting actor, Lost didn't win for best writing (Walkabout), and Ellen D. forgot to bring the funny. (That Emmy Idol thing is a train wreck).

You are missing the point. I don't care. I am watching the Emmys, on CBS, and I don't really care about Ellen or ratings.

Are you saying that every cable channel can detect whenever I go onto their channel, or when I switch the channel?....I thought that ratings were determined by those little black boxes placed voluntarily in only about a 1000 or so homes, each year...

Good memories. I used to watch the show every Sunday with my grandmother. We'd watch the Agatha Christie films too and I'd borrow her mystery novels sometimes as well. She would often call the series "Murder She Said" which I didn't know then but later discovered was a 1961 film's title. It's a Miss Marple mystery.

Amazing what memory and advanced age can transpose. As long as we know what they mean, it's all that really matters.
