But, but, I thought she had all the power to use those buses.

On the day of the storm, or perhaps the day after, FEMA turned down the state's suggestion to use school buses because they are not air conditioned, Blanco said Friday in an interview. Even after levees broke and residents were crowding the Louisiana Superdome, then-FEMA Director Mike Brown was bent on using his own buses to evacuate New Orleans, Blanco said.
This seems pretty straightforward. Is it true or not?

And they were there because your corrupt, incompetent officials never ordered them to evacuate people, although the written plan the federal government paid you to create called for them to be used.
Governor: Here is the bottom line. You and the idiot mayor screwed the pooch big time. because of YOUR actions and inactions, hundreds of people are dead.
Each of your "photo ops" should begin with a reading of that statement!

This is the same chick, BTW, who told FEMA not to worry about cadaver pick-up, then blasted them later on for not picking up cadavers.
FWIW, I think she's lying through her teeth.

"On the day of the storm, or perhaps the day after, FEMA turned down the state's suggestion to use school buses because they are not air conditioned, Blanco said Friday in an interview." As much as I ascribe the very large majority of the human disaster to the Mayor and this incompetent, I can actually envision someone at FEMA making this type of decision. Let's face it, relying on Gov't (Most notably at State and Local levels) to rescue you or look out for your welfare means you are probably already beyond help.

This may or may not be factual about what happened after the storm, but what about before the storm struck? Nagin's and Blanco's dithering, that's what.

Still passing the buck, I see.
Even if her response were true, it doesn't excuse the fact she and Mayor Nagin failed to use NO buses (a whole 1.2 miles from the superdome) and other buses from the state of LA.

What a putz! When your people were dying, you dingbat were calling Washington? I'll guarantee that would NEVER happen in Texas. Shame on you, you poor excuse for a governor. You should have continued your career as a high school typinng teacher, in which case you couldn't have done much damage.

That inspires confidence in what follows, not.

There are two assertions of fact there.
Are either of them true?
I would expect Gulf Coast school buses to have AC.
I would also expect dead-duck governor Blanco to
lie her butt off.
