Cleveland,Ohio (AHN) - The nominees for the Class of 2006 for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is filled with a lot of hold overs from previous years and virtually ignores a truckload of artists that many critics are shaking their heads over.

J.Geils Band, John Mellencamp, the Patti Smith Group, Chic, Joe Tex,Miles Davis, Cat Stevens, Blondie, the Paul Butterfield Band, the Dave Clark Five and the Sir Douglas Quintet will all have a chance to make it into the hall of fame located in Cleveland.

This year also marks the eighth chance for Black Sabbath, Lynyd Skynyrd gets their seventh chance, and the Sex Pistols and the Stooges all of which are on try number five.

Missing from the nomination list again this year include bands like Rush, Van Halen, Yes, Genesis, ELO, Joan Jett, Def Leppard, Alice Cooper, Heart, Deep Purple, Pat Benatar, and Duran Duran.

Nominees are picked by a 70-member committee of rock 'n' roll historians, journalists and label execs, with ballots then mailed to an international voting body of 700 music industry types for the final decision. The five to seven nominees that receive the most votes will be inducted into the Rock Hall next year.

While an albino musician is something "different," an albino covered in tatoos is a bit creepy.

Just a bit. To me, it is not much different than Dennis Rodman in basketball though...

What's up with Johnny Winter? Is he doing heroin again?

The man's got unbelievably talent. You can hear so much of his influence in Stevie Ray Vaughn.

Hear he's a big drunk.Saw him in NYC about 3 years ago ..He played well but could barely stand up . I hear they have to baby sit him a lot.
About 12 years ago he was using a rehearsal studio that I had booke dafter him .He invited my band in one day to watch them rehearse. He sat down , all but emptied a quart bottle of OJ and fillt it with Vodka . He was guzzling it like it was

Hey, you're good, sushiman. Rick Huxley. Bet you could even name the Dakotas (of Billy J. Kramer). No, I hope not. Yes, The Zombies were wonderful -- I never get tired of the breathless "She's Not There." I liked some of the jazzy offerings of Georgie Fame, too. And dare we mention The Honeycombs? Have we the right?

" The Zombies were wonderful -- I never get tired of the breathless "She's Not There."

If you haven't got it , please pick up ODESSEY ( sic ) and ORACLE . It was released after they broke up . The Zombies , for the first time in their careers , controlled every step of the recording process inc. songwriting , production of the music and the album cover . A near masterpiece that CBS ( no surprise there ) was not very interested in at the time and offered The Zombies a mere $ 3500 recording budget ! If you buy it , and don't love it , let me know and I'll buy it from you for price paid and give it to a friend as a present .

The Honeycombs , with the cool female drummer ...One hit wonders but I always dug that tune Have I The Right . I've got a video here of Brit bands from the early invasion lip synching to their hits , and the Honeycombs ( Searchers , Animals , Nashville Teens , Spencer Davis , Billy J , etc...) are on it . The title is POP GEAR . I saw it in the movie theater when I was a kid . A little goofy in retrospect , but cool anyway . Check it out !_

Yes he did. Later, in a totally different genre, he did "The Ballad Of Bonnie and Clyde." Remember Hedgehoppers Anonymous?

I remember "The Ballad of Bonnie and Clyde" but "Hedgehoppers Anonymnous" escapes me.

I also remember a guy by the name of Llyod Thaxston. Do you remember him?
