Thanks sleuth. The hatches are battened and I'm beginning the thread early today. Worked until 10:30 last week, too long for me, snugs probably had to set an alarm over in the UK.
Here here
I don't recall Reaganman ever in the top ten.
WATER RESOURCES DEVELOPMENT ACT OF 1996So, even taking the June 9, 1995 Times-Picayune article as accurate (that an Army COE official withheld a report from the Congressional Budget Office in 1995), it appears a Harvey Canal project at about $120 million dollars, as described in an Army Corp report dated May 1, 1995, was funded by Congress during Clinton's term in office. That is, at worst, John Zirschky's threat to sit on a 1995 report delayed passage until the following year.[[Page 110 STAT. 3658]]
Public Law 104-303 - 104th Congress

That sounds better than some plans I've heard. In Denver it won't happen. Denver is proudly among the other leftist cities who would rather throw money at a problem rather than resolve it.
That is my feeling as well
Nope he suddenly showed up Friday just bursting at the seams with Bush bashing. Kept running into him everywhere. Finally pinned him down on like the 11th thread after a few hundred posts as to what he WANTED Bush to do. Going to try and get him pinned down here. His idea is basically "I don't want to have to pay for anything so the Feds should do nothing". Basically wants to just ignore the whole mess and wish it away. Seems he never hear the old saw about what to do when Fate hands you a bunch of lemons.
I suggest you read all my posts and not just the ones that are critical of the GOP Congress and the President. Btw, this has nothing to do Ronald Reagan. It has to do with a Bush/GOP policy agenda that expands the size and scope of the federal government. Its about whether FReepers support a conservative policy agenda on spending, or a big government Republican policy agenda on spending. Cheerleading for Bush is fine. But you have to be honest and face the facts. Truth is the only reality I know of.
I have been bemused for the last few years, buy the media and others that have complained..that Bush "hasn't vetoed ONE bill"...
I did not know that one of the job requirements of the POTUS, is to veto bills! Also, when the POTUS is the same party as the majority in both Houses of Congress, one would assume that NO bill should be sent to the POTUS that would require vetoing!!!
However, that doesn't mean that I and certainly a lot of conservatives are HAPPY with the spending bills....unfortunately, the Congress is made of people that seem to have a lifetime mandate...and therefore, seem oblivious to the public's outcry to cut the pork.
BUT, I will say that when Katrina happened, I was glad that Bush hadn't vetoed any bills, because sure as shooting, no matter what bill it would have been...the MSM and dems would have found a way to attach that vetoed bill for the REASON there was so much death and destruction by Katrina.
What happened to the money and the project?
Threatening people because you don't like hearing the truth is a poor way to debate issues. You do what you think is necessary and i'll let the chips fall where they may. I will not respond to you anymore. Not until to get a gripe and stop acting like a juvenile.
Amen
It is all that, the MSM have been Polled and they do not go to Church for the most part ever. It is beyond hatred because of his religious Faith, it is because their religion is Power, and they have been losing Power steadily for the last 20 years at least. They had The Presidency, The House and The Senate during Clinton first Years and they did nothing but cause more pain in America and so the Republicans became the majority and have held the house now for 10 years and the Senate for a great percentage of the last 10 years. They are always incensed to to see their power ebbing away further, and they may even hate themselves when they use the deaths of people in our Military or in tragedies like the Hurricanes or the 911 or Murrah Building Bombings to try to get an advantage. The sickness in one's heart to be able to do that is inconceivable for most Republicans.
This is just PART of what Bubba Clinton is up to---he is trying to become KING OF THE WORLD....

Dont worry I was watching FNC
I use to listen to Laura every day, turned her off this week. Doubt I will be back. She is far too corrupted by the establishment Media. She is starting to be their echo chamber. Like most "establishment" Conservatives she, Novak, Noonan, etc spends far far far too much time bashing her own side. Why should I listen to the Radio for that? I can get the same thing just by picking up any Daily newspaper. Was curious how Rush was going to respond after seeing all the "conservatives" freaking out around here Thursday night. Was vastly reassured when his reaction matched mine. Was even happier when Bush said that the Gulf Recovery Spending needed to be off set with spending cuts. That the would not accept any tax hikes. Was amazed by how even THAT thread was taken over by "conservatives" who spent all their time bashing Bush. It made me realize that their is something quite different motivating there people who claim to be "Reagan Conservatives". Funny how quickly they forget Fed spending DOUBLED during Reagan's 8 years. But apparently their fantasy world is so much more comforting their reality they refuse to leave it.
