Mr Spooner said he had warned police about trouble at the markets. ---- "They promised me help but nothing happened," he said. "The situation is out of control and something needs to be done urgently."Sounds like the New Orleans police.

For a second, I was having a "Howard Stern Moment."
What popped into my mind was a bunch of gorgeous 18 and 19 year old girls in schoolgirl outfits in a pillow fight... I mean, they did say that this was at a tourist spot, and lets face it, you could sell tickets to something like that...
Excuse me, I need to go wash my mind out.

Where did this happen?
...and why, on every other article I have to be Sherlock Holmes to figure out where things take place?
Does anything happen outside of East Bumfudge!

That was my thought too.
It's terrible that they pulled out a bollard.
I can't believe they'd so far as to pull out a bollard.
What could they have been thinking when they pulled out a bollard.
Eh......What's a bollard?

Darwin....capitol of the the Northern Territory in Australia. It's basically at the top of the map of Australia in the middle on the coast.

Where did this happen? I take it that when the article said, in the first line:
HUNDREDS of people watched in horror as a mob of schoolgirls rioted at Darwin's biggest tourist attraction.
...you thought perhaps they were saying that rioting schoolgirls is the pinnacle of evolution, not describing the city it occurred?
As for the bollards, that's pretty hardcore...depending on who installed them. Maybe they were sunk only an inch or two, for show.

No I was wondering how secure into the ground the bolard must have been for school girls to have pulled it out of the ground.
Either the girls or on steroids or the bollard is cheap.
