Please note the dates of the two linked letters from Governor Blanco to President Bush, as well as the discrepancies in the requested assistance:
(Governor Blanco's Press Release, Dated August 27, 2005)
(Governor Blanco's Letter To President Bush, Dated August 28, 2005)
Which letters were sent to the President, and why are there such radical differences in the requested assistance? President Bush declared an emergency existed in Lousiana on August 27, 2005:
(White House Press Release, Dated August 27, 2005)
What is the purpose of the August 28, 2005 letter?
BTTT
=)
She'd better get to work airbrushing out all those pictures of school buses on everybody's computers. It wouldn't hurt to have secret tribunals, purges, and policemen to make people disappear.

Watch the video here to see her admission that she SHOULD HAVE ASKED FOR THE MILITARY earlier.
I suspect the earlier request for $9 million in aid was generated from Emergency Contingency Planning boilerplate, while the later letter was probably influenced by actual emergency operational effects. I believe both are now moot as the required aid is now in the billions as opposed to $130 million.
bttt
The problem here is that there is no training class to be governor of some state. You run a personality contest and win...and if your former profession was a teacher or school administrator....then tough luck. Its the same with Arnold out in California....who has alot of business sense, and a bit of common sense...and can make up for any lack of leadership skills.
Blanco simply got a job that was too complicated for her, and no one around her to direct her in any direction. Out of 50 governors...I'll bet 12 are in her same category. They have no real leadership skills and can't do anything but look good during a campaign and make speeches.
The second letter requests that an expedited major disaster be declared. The President should have sent the first debris removal crew to the Governor's office.

BLANKO has been attempting to do this since end of the first week after N.O.'s hit. I've closely been following what's, when proclamations, letters and so forth at state's web site...it's a been changing...LOL
I'm more interested in the first part of Governor Blanco's little got cha moment. The part where she's talking about how she admonished someone because they had tried to call in the military.. because it could put good people in jeopardy?
She said, "I said we're not tolerating "YOU" asking for more military presence. But I mean, you know... that I'm sayin "YER" putting good people in jeopardy... potentially." Then she says, "I really need to call for the military. I should have started that in the first call."
I want to know who these good people are, and how could they have possibly been put in jeopardy if the military had been called in.
The only thing I can think of is that maybe these good people she spoke about were high ups in the dem party. And maybe these high ups were giving her orders to hold off on calling in the military so they could succeed in doing exactly what they did.
The MSM was right there to lay into President Bush, and right on cue. And they spared no effort in their trashing him. It went on for day's and day's and day's. And look at all the voices who were also seemingly playing their parts right on cue. They almost got away with the biggest lie of the century. And if not for Governor Blanco's getting caught on tape, they would have pulled it off.
So I want to know who are those good people she's protecting? And why do they need protecting? That's what I want to know.
When did the left NOT try to?
Day after day the information is being collected and correlated and disseminated. And it becomes more and more evident that the federal government is not to blame for the late response. The www.impeachblanco.org website was only registered on September 10, which removes any suggestion that it's a long-time "right wing conspiracy" website trying to make Blanco look bad. And that video is amazing.
Thanks very much for posting this.
A post on Thursday or Friday said the original Aug 27 declaration was replaced on the governor's site with an Aug 28 dated declaration. IIRC, the poster said the Aug 27 one excluded Orleans and 3 other parishes.
Here's a yes but....every state has an Emergency Management dept who would have directed her as to "what" to ask for. These people are usually career civil servants. Unless she didn't know she had an EMA agency.
