Certainly we fund them by virtue of their non tax status.

I think it would be outstanding for someone like Tancredo to challenge those groups.

Not sure if Bush continued Clinton's NOW funding. I vaguely recall he'd already defunded them. I don't know a thing about NAACP funding. But the ACLU gets tax money every time it defends someone's uncivil rights, such as protecting children from the Pledge, or protecting people from seeing crosses and 10 Commandments monuments. Other legal groups tap into that same loophole.

Handling one or more of those groups, some celeb could really clean up by saying:

"Perhaps you should turn to the private sector, folks. Wouldn't you feel ashamed if the tax money you soak up takes away from people who are truly in need?"
