IMO Berger...plea bargained....(very quietly so he can stay alive)

His sentencing was postponed for months.... and still got off with a slap on the pepe. We can only hope he made a deal.

Would they still be retrievable from the hard drive of the computer?

In a word, no. Military standards for electronic erasure of data require that the actual sectors occupied by the data be repeatedly rewritten with alternating "1010" binary patterns followed by "0101" patterns. This process is repeated for a number of passes dependent on the security level involved. The procedure is done (or supposed to be done) to guarantee that no recognizable data remains on the HD after it's erasure and preclude it's subsequent retrieval.

Regards,
GtG

It will be interesting to see who is who in this formulation and cancellation of ABLE DANGER. We might just find out what plans algore had as the 43rd president with hillry leading the senate.

the ranking officers at the pentagon are the ones installed by who? bill (i loathe the military) clinton!

Look what the Pentagon leftists did to Linda Tripp to avenge Clinton. I have always said, every President should clean house, fire every single civil servant whose loyalty is not beyond question. But someone on FR said that it was illegal to do so, that it violated some act of Congress. Is this true?

The judge actually increased the fine and probation....original fine was only $10,000 and the other areas were double too IIRC.....My dad was furious and pointed it out to me....Both sides had agreed....but the judge stepped in and upped the anti.

There was only little sentence in a paragraph that led a person to believe he did some bargaining....It was missing in another similar article published....Wish I'd kept them.

Think they intentionally waited until there was big news (Katrina) to release the information so it wouldn't get a lot of publicity....

It could be because of Sources and Methods. They need to make sure Leaky Lehey is not allowed in.

Actually, Specter did a decent job of shutting Kennedy and Schumer down during the Roberts hearings.

I don't know what's gotten into him. He's acting like a real Republican.

Thanks for the ping...

What is really making me mad...besides the stuff already mentioned by other freepers...is the attitude of the 9/11 Commissioners...

They act like THEY are being accused of a cover-up!!! Could it be?????

2.5 terabytes is a LOT of data. I wonder if this has anything to do with Project Echelon?

Although I have vowed to stop second guessing GW, I still don't understand why he insists on socializing with Bubba and his wench.

Can you say "FBI FILES"?

That theft was the best investment Hillary ever made, forget cattle futures. She owes Craig Livingtone big time. Everyone in the Bush Admninistration, anything bad they have ever done or were RUMORED to have done. It's all in their FILE. And Hillary has every single one of them. It explains Sandy Berger's wrist-slap. It explains a lot.

But it also makes you wonder why the Bush people don't use the files themselves to fight back. I'd bet the Clinton crowd has a heck of a lot more skeletons than his people do. But that wouldn't be FAIR. That wouldn't be CIVIL. That wouldn't be NICE. And the Bush family is just so darned NICE. Better to lose than to be "mean" while winning. That defined H.W.'s pathetic 1992 campaign (never took on Clinton head-on on character, which would have derailed him), and even Bush's refusal to permit any rightful blame of Ray Nagin and the buses. New tone. Tone deaf.
