Yeppers...even if all parties land safely...there is always the question of equipment failure or weather conditions (wind shear, etc.). It's only prudent to check out each incident, no matter what the aircraft.
I spent some employment time at a LARGE aircraft manufacturer in the Seattle area... ;)
Looks like 172RG. They do complex training in those lots. I did my CFI in one, because you have to demonstrate complex, AND spins, and that's about the only airplane certified for that.
Ahem....
From a google source...
The Chrysler Group is recalling 2000-02 Jeep Wranglers, 2000-01 Jeep Cherokees and 1999-2002 Jeep Grand Cherokees with 4.0-liter engines. The automaker said debris accumulation in the engine compartments of these vehicles could potentially cause a fire.
50/50 he was a brownshorter
Appears that the people on the ground knew what they were doing.
No doubt.
I have a Wrangler as a "second vehicle." It's a '99, with less than 40k miles on it, which tells you how much I use it. I have a love/hate relationship with it. Raising and lowering the top, for instance, is an ordeal. But it's fun under some circumstances (driving on the beach in 4WD mode, for example), and useful biz-wise for checking out developable land without roads.
Sometimes I think I'm the oldest Wrangler driver under the Sun; most other drivers I see are 16-20. Been a while since I've been in that age range, but I'm not giving up my Jeep. Glad to see a Jeep was put to good use in the event reported.
Good think I saw your warning! My wife drives a Jeep.
I did spins in a Beech T-34. :-)
Thanks :-)
Back in the dark ages I "did time" in the back seat of a Phantom F-4. (I am getting old) LOL!
a. I'd be walking
b. So would my student
c. and my plane is safely parked so that even if I lose my ticket I can still sell the thing...or rent it out.
Beats a funeral any day, and a hospital most days.
The airport will now investigate to see if the impromptu in-flight inspection broke any major rules.
What?!?""
This falls into the same category as the volunteers who went to New Orleans to help and were turned away because "they hadn't been able to prove they had passed a mandatory FEMA course on 'community relations' which Congress decided all FEMA people had to be able to do. A trained and capable SEARCH & RESCUE group from a neighboring state was stopped in it's tracks. Now allowed to help.
They filmed some scenes for Days of Thunder at New Smyrna Airport.... they are used to driving fast around there.
GOD I LOVE THIS COUNTRY!!!
BTW this is my next Jeep
Really? Got a ride, or rode in the pit for a living?
I was an F-4C/E crew chief in the mid 70's. Luke AFB AZ, and Hahn AFB Germany.
Watched a good video on the Military Channel last night about Top Gun, and how they started it during Vietnam. Had some good air-to-air shots of Phantoms.
Apparently Cunningham (the Congressman currently in the scandal) was a Top Gun graduate and was in a legendary dog fight I hadn't heard about. Got in a mess with 20+ Mig 17s, and shot down 3 including a Vietnamese ace. It was the first air-to-air kill we'd got in 2 years.
They should do a "prequel" to the movie Top Gun about how they started the school and the results. The video said that at one time, it was against the rules to dog fight, so pilots would secretly meet at certain times and places and go at each other for awhile and never report it.
I would imagine keeping the trash next to your furnace could potentially cause your house to burn. Life is messy; clean it up!
JEEP Bump! Great American set of wheels. Not just a vehicle, a way of life!
