Bloomberg switch to the GOP to run for mayor pretty much uncontested in the primary. He knew his chances in the RAT primary were slim.

"Even if I don't share Bloomberg's ideas on abortion, I'm equally unconvinced about Roberts' action in front of many issues."

Do you or do you not share Bloomberg's ideas on abortion?

What has Roberts done or said that makes you have doubts about him?

If you think Bloomberg is against Roberts because he is not an originalist then you need to pay attention.

Roberts may be a grand mistake, we'll find out. I worry about "insiders" who like to be near the flame. Think Bill Cohen. Is Roberts a moth like Cohen? I don't know. His background and rearing don't point to that but we'll never know.

I am unconvinced that Mayor Bloomberg recognizes Dred Scott as settled law.

It's like Ann Coulter said - they are the 'abortion party'.

That is their only issue of concern, their whole reason for being.

" Democrats may be forced to shut down operations as a party and re-enter politics under a different name. The party formerly known as "the Democratic Party" will henceforth be doing business under the name "the Abortion Party."

That would have the virtue of honesty. Love of abortion is the one irreducible minimum of the Democratic Party. Liberals don't want to go to war with Saddam Hussein, but they do want to go to war to protect Roe v. Wade.

Pay attention, Roberts is not an originalist and he will never oppose abortion's laws.

What information do you have that makes you so absolutely sure he will never oppose abrotion's laws?

"What a crock. Prior to Roe v Wade there was also established law... It was entirely different that Roe v Wade."

What a bunch of idiots. Slavery was established law at one time, too.

I'm sure glad we got around that good ole "established law" thing in that case.

"I am unconvinced that Judge Roberts accepts the landmark Roe v. Wade ruling as settled law," Bloomberg said.

Roberts has made it clear he accepts Roe v. Wade as settled law. What more evidence does Bloomberg need?

"...why does EVERY political decision have to include abortion???????"

Any decision or action against abortion *rights* bolsters and reaffirms the sanctity of the individual life and individual rights thereby eroding the the designs of those with a more collectivist/socialist vision. When the state is legally compelled to defend the most innocent and defenseless among us, the statists must acknowledge being in a position of weakness to the citizenry, and they will resist this notion to the last.

That's why.

Roberts does not believe in the "Lost Constitution" doctrine (Scalia and Thomas). Instead, he says, "I don't have an overarching, uniform philosophy", which means that he will follow the Congress as well as a lot of precedents. In short, he will not help the other conservative members of the Supreme Court, to reject "affirmative action" and abortion. On many issues (apart from business ones), he will agree with Kennedy. Which is not very conservative...

Abortion is murder no matter how you slice it. I don't agree with anyone that would allow the killing of innocent American Citizens. Women have many other options to pregnancy and of course the one least used is to keep their legs closed.

The SCOTUS needs to revist ROE V WADE and bring this society back to balance. Any woman that would use Abortion as a means of Birth Control should be charged with murder.

Bloomberg = RINO.

Before abortion (a very expensive and traumatic form of birth control), shouldn't there be some form of or thought of birth control?

How much does it cost to say "NO" (and I'm not talking about coercion)or for men and women to just keep their pants on? Can anyone THINK of consequences before acting?

He's probably hoping to influence a few RINO senators from the northeast.
