I knew the exorcist for the Diocese of Plymouth. I remember his telling me about an exorcism he carried out at the request of some truck drivers (who had been messing around with a Ouija board). Very impressive story (secret, sorry) and a very impressive man. Basically there aren't usually any "fireworks" to the process - its all very matter-of-fact.

But yes, exorcism is one of the jobs that baptised laity can do. Best to get training first though: apparently the chief danger in exorcism (as in healing and other such acts) is the danger of spiritual pride.

One of the "Seven Deadly Sins", and IMO the worst: It can blind us to the rest.
