Trying to use Amy Grant's popularity to "win over" the Christian just won't work. Especially in the ridiculous premise of this show.
Most people of true faith don't give a rat's patootie about "wishes" or financial/material gain.
Another swing and a miss from NBC.

The only time I ever tuned into NBC was at 7:00 PM on Sundays.

What originallity!
Now we're bringing back "Queen for a Day"!
Why anyone would watch/read/or listen to MSM is simply a puzzlement!

Amy Grant? Are you kidding me. She lost all credibility in the Christian community when she bailed on her husband to mary the guy she was shacking up with, Vince Gill.
The fact that NBC is using here as their token "Christian" for this piece of pandering crap says volumes about how out of touch they are with evangelical Christians.

But will it even begin to approach the quality benchmark of "Queen for a Day"? (rolleyes)Well, in all honesty, it wasn't that kind of thing. The one I saw was a kid about 10 years old (white, middle-class), who wanted nothing more than to be legally adopted by his stepdad who he loved. I don't know why it wasn't happening, red tape or something. But the THREE WISHES people made it happen with all the fanfare and Hollywood touches in a big ceremony. It was pretty sweet.
It wasn't the really hard core down on their luck kind of thing that Queen For A Day was. Harmless, girly TV at best. It's geared at the same audience who watch Extreme Home Makeover...you know...people who've had some bad luck getting a break, that's all.

...I love Rescue Me on FX...I loved that show last season. But what's with the 2+ gay themes per week on that show this season?
I'll never again be able to hear somebody say, "Oh Daddy!" without bursting out into fits of laughter.

" Not a whole lot else out there that I ever make it a point to watch."
- I haven't watched an hour long drama show in years - just couldn't summon the urge to follow a program that always had a little "message" buried in there somewhere that was designed to tell us what to think about the long, long laundry list of liberal pet causes.
However, recently I've taken to watching a new FOX series, "House", mainly because I've been a fan of the lead actor, Hugh Laurie, who you may remember as the Brit twit in the short run comedy series, "Blackadder". The series follows Laurie as a specialist diagnostician at a local hospital who encounters a new malady each week that he must diagnose and cure. The "hook" in the series is that Laurie, while brilliant, is a sarcastic curmudgeon who insults staff and patients alike.
Although "House" sometimes touches on the laundry list topics, it's usually peripheral and they tiptoe through the subject being careful to try and present both sides. Laurie's character is always non committal on the issues so my sensibilities are never insulted. My opinion is that the shows writers are very aware of it's Red State audience and are trying to remain relevant but neutral. Tune in, you might like it because the writing is very good..

WHat happened to that new show, I think it was called, "Our Town", where the entire small town was put into a studio and were exposed for all of their quirks, but in the end they were all given something really cool. THe first one had a town of about 300 and they were all given scooters.
I would love to see a town of nothing but scooters.

I loved that show last season. But what's with the 2+ gay themes per week on that show this season? I missed the first season and started watching the beginning of the second. At least they aren't trying to portray homosexuals in the normal Hollywood PC light. They are just as messed up as anyone else in the show. The lesbian domestic abuse scene in the last episode was brual. I don't mind homosexual characters in shows, I just don't want PC propaganda pushed down my throat (er, so to speak).
