Conservatism is finally dead when George Bush can sound like LBJ and be lauded for it by a majority even on the FreeRepublic.
He sure tricked the media though. They thought he was going to be "less generous". Instead, he showed just how compassionate and generous a slick politician can be with other people's money.
ohh yeah...
we should let the area fail, screw the ports, we don't need to ship anything.
right?
the LOOP doesn't matter, I LOVE paying $2.50 a gallon!!!
LOL
what a maroon.
I believe that it was President Jefferson raided the treasury in order to purchase Louisiana. It appears that he made huge headlines with that profligate waste of tax money.
Distressing, isn't it? Folks are letting their feelings short-circuit their brains.
and the Republican party is stuck with this agenda now. they cannot claim to be fiscally responsible anymore, and when they campaign on tax cuts - the rebuttal of "how are you going to pay for..." will hold more water now.
"Conservatism is finally dead when George Bush can sound like LBJ and be lauded for it by a majority even on the FreeRepublic."
Correct me if I am wrong, but I got the impression he was talking about opportunity and job incentives. Yes the govt will start out helping, with the intention of people working to improve their situation. It may not improve some people incapable of improving themselves, but we will cross that bridge later. I do believe it will be dealt with. How is this a death?
Oh no, Fox coming up the the Rev Jess
Cause if you are, then you know that this speech didn't sound anything LIKE LBJ.
You have NO idea what a Conservative is and you aren't one.
How old are you...16? LBJ? If you think that President Bush sounded like LBJ, you NEVER heard LBJ !
