DID YOU FEEL THAT? It was the size of the Federal Government growing again. It moved the Earth.
:-) Good speech though.

It's as bad as I expected. Why as a taxpayer do I have to "do my part" to rebuild an area that I don't live in. We live and do business and get the benefits of the areas we invest in...and should take responsibility for the risks and costs.
Write checks to everybody, create gigantic slush funds for local and state hacks, but promise us that there will be some Federal "inspectors." That givers me a lot of confidence. A lot of people are going to make a lot of money off of this, and its all coming out of our pockets. But George Bush is "compassionate." Bleccch.

LOL -- well, sometimes. I am a little surprised too.... PLEASANTLY! Mo1 and I both agreed we'd wait to hear the entirety.

I have been ashamed of my lack of compassion on this. I have compassion for all of them but it is lacking. I have reasons but still.... I did a job yesterday for a family that rode it out and then came to Missouri after. They have been here a week. I couldn't get them out of bed before 10:30 a.m. Someone else was paying me to go help them. I wasn't very sympathetic because they showed so little respect for those giving them help.

I agree, the speech is good, and right for the situation. I just wish President Bush's marketing side was turned like this 100% of the time.. sadly, his biggest weakness is his strong speeches come after all the fourth estate, fith column, dis-informers have already put words in his mouth.

I just have a problem w/those that
think the prez is suppose to roll
up his sleeves and do the jobs
himself.
Like pumping the water out himself.
Collecting the dead himself.
Restoring power & phones himself.
Yada, yada, yada.

I've worked on his campaigns and donated hundreds of dollars to get him elected & reelected.
Have supported the GOP my entire life.
I am as much the base as you are.
