Exactly, and you can bet your bottom dollar that Madame Hillary isn't pleased with Bush's speech.
We are forty years out from the end of segregation and institutionalised racism. Keep in mind that thirty of those years were dominated by liberal democrat, socialist agendas too. I don't think black folks ever had some real breathing room with the government at all. Never ever depend on the same government that once kept folks in chains, etc. and these days makes you pay taxes after you die!
I should clarify my prior statement to say that affluent blacks only narrows it down to the race baiters like Jesse, Al, and black Democrat politicians. Each one of them blames Republicans for the problems in "the slums", when it's them who have conditioned most people to think the Republicans created the problem. Hell, each of them attribute the Democrats as the ones who ended slavery and civil rights, when the reverse is true.

Why is it most of the dip sticks don't state where they
are from on their home page. Wonder if they are ashamed
or what.
I can hardly believe you're still up!
How ya doing BSF?
Until this very day in Louisiana and a few other places.
Rand's solutions, aren't workable, but they refuse to see reality.
I'll be happy to thank the President. Here's a quick story. I wasn't a Bush supporter when the 2000 campaign started. My sister took me to see him a give a stump speech and I left, not only converted, but telling everyone I knew that he was a sleeping giant. I didn't know or even imagine the things to come...but I knew he was a man of unique strength and spirit.
thanks. I did pass it up. that's about where I started! LOL
Oh yes indeed.
I guess that's one thing that I'm most optimistic about here. A lot of people who have been stuck in dead end lives because of entitlement mentality and the welfare state will have their first real opportunity to see what fending for oneself feels like, and the satisfaction that self-accomplishment brings.
It's obviously too early to say with certainty, but I'm hopeful that the future is brighter for many residents of NO now than it has ever been.
Your response to which you directed me to has NOTHING whatsoever to do with "racial discrimination", even remotely. I've already addressed the reasons why.
They are much more than race baiters, they are Poverty pimps. They have to keep them poor, undedicated and dependent or they do without their very high income and adulation. It is modern day political slavery.
That is, without a doubt, one of the finest posts I've ever seen.
I am very proud to know it was written by a fellow Mississippian.
The very fact that you received a "BRAVO" from nopardons is testament to the veracity of your post.
Thank you.
BTW, we have the same tagline. ;o)
Thanks Howlin for hangin in there.
Bush really nailed it tonight, conveyed the aspect of opportunity here, to do something for a traditionally
downtrodden region overall.
I really think this has reinvigorated his presidency.
On a roll lately evidenced by Chuck Schumer's kind words about Mr Roberts tonight on O'Reilly...whooda thunk that a short while ago? I was expecting a second civil war.
He really turned it around, showed his mettle. Very under-rated fellow he is. By me too, I admit. Had been a bit of doldrums lately, he seems re-engaged, big time.
Great great.
eventually i'll calm down and get some sleep.
Heh.
Doing GOOD! Hope you're doing GOOD as well. Great speech by a great man BTW! Inspiring speech at that. :)
Absolutely. If they didn't do that, they'd be out of work.
Plus, he caught his detractors TOTALLY OFF GUARD! What will they do now??
