didn't mean too
Wasnt it John Gibson who gave him a beating last week subbing for BOR?
WVR says mercy is an empty head.
You're right. We create solutions not angry dependency.
"I think it is time we had an investigation into the MSM's part in the HYSTERIA in this country concerning Katrina and New Orleans."
Me too Howlin. I also think we need to start digging a little deeper into many of these AP & Reuters 'writers' backgrounds. I have been amazed at what I discover when I 'google' many of them. It's a sad day on Freepers reading some of these posts tonight. We are falling into part of the trap set by the MSM and the libs/dems:.."divide and conquer". sad...
I watched Rita Cosby on PMSNBC, right after speech, interviewing a black NO sheriff. The first thing she says is, "what part of the speech did you disagree with most".
He goes on whining about hw he can't communicate with feds. etc. Then she got three other anti-Bush blacks to whine.
What a joke.
If you know anything about Bush, he believes the key to ending poverty is empowerment, personal responsibility and ownership.
Does the government spend too much money? Yes, absolutely. But that money at times does make things better, as long as it comes with accountability and an expectation of getting people to work for that money.
I don't expect you to be impressed. To be impressed, you have to be thinking, and not just feeling.
You ultracons have a hard time with that, so my expectations of your using your brains first are very low.....
If they do this right, our economy will soar. Perhaps, in the process, we can finally show it is possible to break out of the poverty cycle. The first is entirely possible, the second makes me wish he could have a third term.
Your post is right on target-right, MNJohnnie.

Statement of Governor Kathleen Babineaux Blanco
Regarding President Bush's Speech to the Nation
I am greatly heartened by President Bush's strong words tonight reaffirming the nation's commitment to rebuilding southeast Louisiana. I believe the President was sincere when he said, "There is no way to imagine America without New Orleans, and this great city will rise again."
Louisiana's people are strong, optimistic and determined to rebuild this great region, but we cannot do it without the resources of our nation and our government. I take the President at his word when he says those resources will be there when we need them.
I look forward to continuing our partnership with the President and the Congress as we embark on the massive effort to care for our citizens and restore this vital region of our state.
Thanks.
don-o, did you listen the speech?
Gul opportunity zone, urban homestead act, public/private partnerships, home ownership?
New Orleans Must be rebuilt, good man, Must be. The preocess itself will be a massive economic engine for the region.
I relate to your pessimsism but this is not the reincarnation of LBJ.
maybe this is nit picky..but Bush did not name the Mayor or Governer by name..he said local and state politicians would be involed in decisions about thiir cities/staes...what I took from that was whoever is in charge..maybe after they go to jail! Wishful thinking!
The Fed has to step in in a big way, but let's have them do some feasibility studies on how best to remedy the situation before tossing hundreds of billlions of dollars haphazardly too quickly at the most incompetent and corrupt state state-run government in the land.
Good night.....already have head to bed here too....but stopped by one last time.
You know, they say the Meth Drug problem is in every community now. Do you think Little Russ is in need of an intervention?
excellent!
