WASHINGTON, Sept. 14 - A summer of bad news from Iraq, high gasoline prices, economic unease and now the devastation of Hurricane Katrina has left President Bush with overall approval ratings for his job performance and handling of Iraq, foreign policy and the economy at or near the lowest levels of his presidency, according to the latest New York Times/CBS News Poll. ...
Over all, 41 percent of respondents approved of Mr. Bush's performance in office, while 53 percent disapproved. Those figures are in line with other national polls conducted in the last week, roughly equal to the worst ratings Mr. Bush has ever received, comparable to Ronald Reagan and Bill Clinton's worst ratings, but well above the worst ever posted by the president's father, Jimmy Carter and Richard M. Nixon. ...
But Juanita Harrington, 78, a retired Verizon employee and Bush supporter in Larkspur, Colo., said critics of the president "focus everything as if he were a magician and could wave a magic wand and change things."
She added: "The people that were there locally didn't take care of matters there, either. I'm talking about the mayor of New Orleans, I'm talking about the governor, I'm talking about that crazy woman senator from Louisiana - she was an idiot. He may not have succeeded totally, but nobody else did, either." ...

No, they are lying for the Left.
As usual, since the dregs of the
family gene pool, was the only one
left, to take over the paper...and
turn it into used toilet paper =
papers, with s*&t all over them...
Of course that factors into the numbers. Most of us are aware of that. But I've also found that many of the disgrunted Pubbies often have a very myopic view of what's going on. Just MHO. I don't like everything the man has done, but it's difficult to argue with success.
Not that I want to stick up for the Times, but the sampling error is a function of sample size. Since the number of blacks in the sample is smaller, the sampling error will be larger. Basically, the Sample error may be calculated as 1 divided by square root of sample size.
Disclaimer: It has been about 20 years since my last stats class.
Where are the poll numbers on Hillary Clinton NATIONWIDE? How about Ted Kennedy? Nancy Pelosi? How about the Democrat Party as a whole?
"How about the Democrat Party as a whole?"
I think the spelling should be "as a hole"
frankjr,
Just so you know, there are a few folks that think the poll is bogus.

A new Gallup Poll reports that President Bushs approval rating has fallen to 46%. The internals of the poll are quite favorable to Democrats, so it looks like we are doomed next year.
Well, not quite.
In the survey sample, 36% called themselves Democrats, 29% Republicans. Including those who lean toward a party, 51% were Democrats, 40% Republicans.
This poll is indicative of a state like Pennsylvania, not the United States.
I didn't see a poll at that link.
Understood. I'm a conservative who would vote Democrat more often if the idiots wouldn't run all the conservatives off the plantation.
Yep, that's the saying. I see you're fairly new here. Welcome to the forum! It's one of the best resources on the Web.
It's a higher MOE for blacks in this survey, because it's a smaller sample size.
Exactly. See the thread re: the Fox poll http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1485190/posts
The Dem would have to be much more conservative to offset the fact that they would help add to the Dem party's ranks (leadership positions, etc).
