I think that Free Republic posters, who anonymously and honestly express their opinions, certainly do put the lie to the contention that conservatives are racist. Almost everyone here would love to see a black woman like Janice Rogers Brown take a seat on the US Supreme Court.
It is the Left that enjoys seeing blacks wallow in a plantation mentality as perpetual victims. This disempowerment only perpetuates a democrat voting bloc to provide votes for the Leftist elite nanny state.
Character trumps color and gender. As a white male, I would follow a black female like Dr. Rice because of the content of her character. Liberals are users, not leaders.
