I agree Roberts is a gem of a nominee and makes these idiots look just like what they are.
My point is the nomination is NOT about Roberts anymore and the Dems know he will be confirmed. The Democrats will stall and stall as an afront to Bush because they think they have the "right" now as his poll numbers have dropped.
I hope I'm wrong, but still think more and more time will be asked and given and this nominee will not be seated by 10/03.
They can stall, but if they start dragging it out much longer it's going to become obvious even to the maroons who support them. People aren't paying attention now anyway, they are focused on Hurricane Katrina and the upcoming TV season.
I don't think the Dems are willing to risk the criticism and backlash that will happen if they delay for too long. The only thing they'd have in their favor is an ineffective Republican leadership willing to exploit their drag-assing.
