Homosexual activists have made it clear that the next step after "hate crimes" crap is "hate speech". It's all lined up, ready to go. In their minds.

And, apparently, our elected Republican representatives have already bent over and grabbed their ankles.

Sickening.

I'm not interested in arguing the fact whether or not Homosexuality is a lifestyle/choice or not. To me it's irrelevant, and I could care less what these people do to their bodies. And to me, to get distracted by that part of the argument takes us away from the real core of what's happening to this country.

Fact is, that LOTS of crimes are the result of some sort of hatred. What's rather interesting about all this, is that I for the most part am very interested in locking up people for a VERY long time if they just commit the "murder" part of the crime.

What's rather ironic however is that the same group of people who will end up spending lots of time to make sure that the "Hate" portion results in stiffer penalties would be opposed (in general) to longer mandatory prison sentences for murder anyhow.

This is usually where I would say: The left is very odd, and inconsistent if nothing else. They hate people who are "tough on crime", unless they are tough on the sort of special interests that they cater to.

What's sad however is that it's not the left that's in power in the Legislative Branch! It really is disheartening to see that the constituents that put these bozos in power are not being looked after.

The founders created our constitution so we wouldn't have to worry about this sort of "system-run-amok". But we have proven that the constitution is meaningless, and everything from property-rights, to free-speech to equal protection is irrelevant.

It's a worse feeling that one would have had in the 70's, when you could at least blame the liberals for ruining this country. We put "our people" in office, and look where we are. Ginormous deficits, aid packages that are greated than the GDP of many developed nations, increases of the government in ways/shapes undreamed of in the Clinton era.

Even when in power, we conservatives are still wandering in the wilderness :-|
