U.S. House backs hate crime measure protecting gays
Reuters ^ | 9-14-2005 | Joanne Kenen

WASHINGTON, Sept 14 (Reuters) - The U.S. House of Representatives on Wednesday unexpectedly backed a measure to expand federal hate crime protection to gay people, a measure that House conservatives had blocked for years.

The Senate has passed similar legislation, which also expanded protections for the disabled, several times in recent years but House conservatives had argued that these cases should be dealt with on a local or state level without additional federal intervention.

This time the hate crime measure was attached to a bipartisan bill known as the Children's Safety Act aimed at tightening reporting requirements for child sex offenders. Companion legislation has not yet moved through the Senate, so the ultimate fate of the gay protection provision is uncertain.

Still backers were jubilant.

First, actual statistical data without a reference or a source is no different than speculation.

Second, why not quote the rest of what I had to say?
To answer that, yes I do, in the capacity that the sex (sexual intercourse) is heathy (possessing good health). Yes, there exists unhealthy sex, but that's not what I alluding to.

I'm not interested in arguing the fact whether or not Homosexuality is a lifestyle/choice or not. To me it's irrelevant, and I could care less what these people do to their bodies. And to me, to get distracted by that part of the argument takes us away from the real core of what's happening to this country.

Fact is, that LOTS of crimes are the result of some sort of hatred. What's rather interesting about all this, is that I for the most part am very interested in locking up people for a VERY long time if they just commit the "murder" part of the crime.

What's rather ironic however is that the same group of people who will end up spending lots of time to make sure that the "Hate" portion results in stiffer penalties would be opposed (in general) to longer mandatory prison sentences for murder anyhow.

This is usually where I would say: The left is very odd, and inconsistent if nothing else. They hate people who are "tough on crime", unless they are tough on the sort of special interests that they cater to.

What's sad however is that it's not the left that's in power in the Legislative Branch! It really is disheartening to see that the constituents that put these bozos in power are not being looked after.

The founders created our constitution so we wouldn't have to worry about this sort of "system-run-amok". But we have proven that the constitution is meaningless, and everything from property-rights, to free-speech to equal protection is irrelevant.

It's a worse feeling that one would have had in the 70's, when you could at least blame the liberals for ruining this country. We put "our people" in office, and look where we are. Ginormous deficits, aid packages that are greated than the GDP of many developed nations, increases of the government in ways/shapes undreamed of in the Clinton era.

Even when in power, we conservatives are still wandering in the wilderness :-|

Okay, here's a link from the esteemed Dr. Spitzer, who, after years of research and study, has changed his viewpoint and now considers that homosexuals can indeed change; that homosexuality is not innate or inborn.

http://www.frc.org/get.cfm?i=BK03F01&f=IF03H01

Can Some Gay Men and Lesbians Change Their Sexual Orientation? 200 Participants Reporting a Change from Homosexual to Heterosexual Orientation

You claim that homosexual sex acts are not inherently unhealthy. The experts disagree. In fact, many of the research has been done by homosexual researchers themselves. Here's a little more information about the unhealthy aspects of "gay" sex:

Homosexual men experience higher rates of many diseases, including:

· Human Papillomavirus (HPV), which causes most cases of cervical cancer in women and anal cancer in men

· Hepatitis A, B, and C

· Gonorrhea

· Syphilis

· "Gay Bowel Syndrome," a set of sexually transmitted gastrointestinal problems such as proctitis, proctocolitis, and enteritis

· HIV/AIDS (One Canadian study found that as a result of HIV alone, "life expectancy for gay and bisexual men is eight to twenty years less than for all men.")

Lesbian women, meanwhile, have a higher prevalence of:

· Bacterial vaginosis

· Hepatitis C

· HIV risk behaviors

· Cancer risk factors such as smoking, alcohol use, poor diet, and being overweight

Why do homosexuals have such high rates of sexually transmitted diseases?

Much of the reason for high rates of sexually transmitted diseases among homosexuals lies in their higher rates of promiscuous sexual behavior. For example, the 2003 Dutch study mentioned earlier found that even homosexual men who had a "steady partner" also had an average of eight "casual" sexual partners per year (those without a "steady partner" had an average of 22 "casual" ones). Lesbians, meanwhile, were found by one study to have twice as many lifetime male sexual partners as women in the heterosexual control group.

You also trotted out the canard that AIDS is not a "gay" disease; implying that everyone is at risk for contracting HIV. It is well known that anal sex is much more likely to promote the spread of the virus that causes AIDS and homosexuals widely practice this very unhealthy sex act. Anal sex also promotes the spread of many other diseases, including many types of parasites, as well. Just the introduction of sprem into the bloodstream through the tears in the lining of the rectum which routinely occurs during the often violent anal sex act causes long term immune system breakdown.

Add to that the fact that homosexuals average 100 sex partners a lifetime (often much higher) and only a fool or a liar can say that homosexual sex is not inherently unhealthy.

Sigh. Science doesn't support the gay gene theory. The only evidence we have that somebody is a homosexual is their personal testimony. So the question remains... why do you refuse to accept the personal testimonies of ex-gays? Perhaps you have an agenda.

Following the link to your profile it appears you have once again been banned -new name, same homosexual activism...

I will do you a favor and scribe a posthumous opus for you -I know you will read this -you seem to have the need to spout off homosexual talking points pretending you are just arguing some moral relative principle or other -your pro-homosexualization of society stance is transparently obvious -it was obvious the first time you were banned, this time and will be obvious in any future attempts... Your brethren should take note... But I doubt it will matter -you will be back crawling out of your liberal hole of moral relative nonsense to once again attempt reeducating the 'ignorants' who know and will always know that homosexuality is a disordered condition, homosexual acts are a choice -a choice to participate in depraved activity.

Homosexuals as human beings are created in God's image and as such possess dignity and merit respect because they are human -even if they suffer a disorder or choose to practice deviant behavior. However, respect of person does not equate to respect or acceptance of disorder or deviant behavior -homosexuals as such merit and require just discrimination e.g. ban from military service, ban from Boy Scout leadership, ban from adoption of children etcetera...

In a nutshell -regardless the merit your potential arguments it is quite simple -the debate does not happen on Free Republic -FR and the graet majority if not all Frepers are decidedly against the homosexualization of society. The question is not if the homosexual agenda should be opposed or on what basis the opposition is merited -the question is how best to oppose and where can continued opposition be most effective etcetera.

Victories here are not measured by the latest judical fiat or usurpation of the people by the depraved ACLU or by attendance numbers at a depraved pride parade -victories here are measured in respect to eradicating the homosexual agenda from public schools, laws, policies, and society in general -in this reagrd the side you support is not welcome here -you are the enemy...

What Free Republic is all about:

Statement by the founder of Free Republic
