Agree. I will go campaigning for the Epsom National Party (roughly equivalent to your CDU but perhaps a bit more market oriented) candidate Richard Worth tomorrow, and will act as a scrutineer for the National Party on Saturday morning. My electorate is becoming a key battleground one: it is a safe conservative seat and hotly contested between a major conservative party, National, and a minor heavily economic conservative party called ACT, which could be regarded sort of as a very conservative CDU/CSU added with FDP in it. If ACT's candidate Rodney Hide loses, there is no chance National will be able to form a majority government. So it is a long day tomorrow and Saturday.
