If an asteroid hit the earth and broke it in half, killing everything on the planet, the NYT headline the next day would read, "Earth destroyed, women, children and minorities hardest hit".

(Of course, there would be no NYT to publish the headline at that point, but this is simply an illustration of media bias. "Using absurdity to illustrate absurdity.")
