A New Hampshire man was killed Monday when he tried to prevent his SUV with his
2-year-old son in the back seat from rolling down an embankment off of Old Fall
River Road.

Not to be disrespectful to the guy (obviously, he was a good dad) but this sounds like he didn't have the parking brake on. Doesn't one usually set the parking brake when one gets out of the car?

Not since we got the "Park" position on the shift lever. It is still a good idea if you are on an incline.
