Today, President Bush met with Iraqi President Jalal Talabani in the Oval Office, and together they had a joint press conference in the East Room of the White House.
This afternoon, President and First Lady Laura Bush left the White House for New York City, where the President will address the United Nations.

You do have newspapers of various points of view don't you? We used to have both conservative and progressive daily papers but now there seems to have been consolidation and almost all of the big papers are progressive. The television networks have a monopoly because of licensing. I too find it outrageous that the MSM have managed to pull the wool over Americans' eyes. I wonder what we can do to regain a free press.

For some reason, this is getting to me more than all the other media lies.
The horrid blaming of the President for the hurricane, and the continued lies and cover up about what's going on in Iraq are making me sick!
I just listened to the whole press conference on C Span, and it's earthshaking stuff! And being completely ignored by the media........even FOX..........even Special Report!
I think I've got to write to Brit again. This is just WRONG!

Yes we have right and left wing papers it used to be that the right wing far out weighed the left but recently it seems that the right have moved more to the centre and the left more to the left. The sad thing is that most British people do not even realise that the newspaper they are buying has any political agenda and do not readily realise that it is either left or right wing.
We read the Daily Express which is right wing but even that at times is not very pro the Bush Administration and I wonder really how much the actual journalists understand of your system to be fair and balanced in reporting Katrina aftermath.
Most people sadly in the UK buy their newspaper for the sports column or the page 3 pin up and do not care really whether the news content (if there is anything worthwhile) is right or left and would not recognise it anyway.

I think this gets to us because human suffering is involved and it is plain wrong to spin political agenda when people are suffering and I am sure this is why the President made the statement today even then the press twist it saying he is taking full responsibility basically for everything. I am sure that is how the UK papers will show on their headlines tomorrow PRESIDENT BUSH TAKE ALL THE BLAME etc etc if not the newspapers the TV news will use this in their headlines even if they explain a bit further on what he said the headline comment will do the harm.

And on the Iraq bit they are not interested because it does not further their agenda, they will not report this until they have worked out how to spin his words to their end but rest assured they will so what he said will have 101 interpretations by the end of the week.

t is very easy. Most come out of liberal public schoolsYes and that is because the teachers come from college schools of education which are dumbed down and liberal and in the last analysis, the acreditation system of schools results in a monopoly for higher education schools.

Very true and sad and what is even sadder most people do not even realise this and feel that what they have been exposed to was fair and gave them opportunity to decide for themselves this is the clever way that so many of the teaching profession manage to do this.
Apologies to any teachers here but the majority I have found because in reality they have never left school or the hot bed of academia which is rife with left wing ideologues are socialist/liberal in outlook and pass this on whether intentionally or not because in some cases they do not realise how brain washed they are.

The horrid blaming of the President for the hurricane, and the continued lies and cover up about what's going on in Iraq are making me sick!Making me sick too. I think the Left is getting frantic and desperate because they realize they are not winning, not fooling enough of the people and so they become more and more extreme in their lies. Perhaps these extreme lies will make it more obvious to more people that the news is slanted. And more people are reading blogs now.

You are so true. And where I live a large percentage
of kids refuse to learn English Some classes may
have kids speaking 6 or more different languages and
the system doesn't push English.

I would think their parents would realize that if their children are going to prosper in this country they need to speak english and would insist that their children be taught english. My grandfather understood this and saw to it that we learned english and so did all the parents of his generation.

Mostly it is the Mexicans. The parents pride themselves
that they and the kids speak spanish. They hate America
and think one day this will be theirs.
At rallys they will say, go home gringo, this is ours.
Bring up the aztland site. They also hate Israel.
Folks in other states don't know how bad it is.

Yes, I know. My daughter teaches in Salinas. She gets extra pay because she has a bilingual credential. I used to live in California and I have heard such talk.

It is La Raza egging them on.
That is a big part of it.
I sit approx 15 north of the Mexican border.
This border is the largest and busiest in the world.
Around 24 lanes of traffic backed up for usually an
hour.
