A federal appeals court today upheld a 30-year sentence for a Fulton man convicted on child pornography charges.
Jack Wayne Rogers was sentenced in April 2004 after investigators found about 1,000 images of child pornography at his home and business. Among the photographs, investigators also found evidence that Rogers performed voluntary "nullifications," a procedure in which a males sexual organs are removed.
Lawyers for Rogers had argued before a three-judge panel of the 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals that his sentence was unreasonable. At a hearing in April, Rogers appointed lawyer contended that Senior U.S. District Judge Scott O. Wright had improperly sentenced his client to the long term because Rogers once botched a nullification operation.
Evidence showed that the patient almost died from severe bleeding. Authorities also alleged that Rogers ate the mans body parts after the procedure.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Lawrence E. Miller, however, contended that Wright had properly weighed all evidence against Rogers.
In my time as an (assistant U.S. attorney) Ive never seen anything like this and I hope I never see it again, Miller said. This is a very dangerous man. I think Judge Wright realized that.
Isn't this behavior protected by the "right to privacy?"
Nope. I'm not sure Damien Echols and the others are guilty. I don't need to argue about this, I just have several questions about the prosecution of this case.
Wait until he gets to prison!
Oh, Im not attacking you, I saw a sign on CSPAN in October of 2001 at the ANSWER rally. I didnt know who they were. I thought because of the people who at that rally they were Earth First people or something. If memory serves, and this is why I posted, wasnt one of the victims "nullified"?
NOW gang memeber?(/s)
not much of a weenie anymore... HAHAHAHAahahaha.... Sorry.
I've heard from people knowledgeable about these things that child abusers are considered the lowest of the low in prison -- they get treated by their fellow inmates accordingly.
In my opinion it is a human being at the moment of conception because all the equipment is there, complete, he/she just needs time to grow, but is still human. Before condeption there is no human, it takes the egg to be fertilized by the sperm before a human is formed, after that, from the first moment of coneption, it is human. This is a no brainer from my point of veiw.
Why do these people get a chance to continue to live? Where is the death penalty for perverts like this? Sick!
Some comedian or other observer of social trends noticed that the government always uses three names to denote serious criminals, particularly asassins, eg. John Wilkes Booth, James Earl Ray and John Hinckley, who was actually John Warnock Hinckley, Jr., but who knew? There appears to be no actual rule on this.
And, why is it usually "Wayne"?
LOL!! I have a cousing named Charles Wayne B. So there are a FEW of you otu there who are ok. I think. LMBO!!
This monster should be UNDER the jail.
My dad works in prison ministry and yes, child abusers are quite abused when they get to prison, followed by rapists.
I've often wondered if this is because so many men in prison were abused (sexually, emotionally, physically) as children, and have tons of stored-up hate for their own abusers, so when they get a convicted child abuser in their midst, they go for the jugular, heaping abuse on one they know is guilty, as a vicarious way of venting rage at their own abusers.
All done very slowly.
Sheesh! That was one typo-ridden post!
I never really thought about it that way, but it does make perfect sense.
"...not much of a weenie anymore..."
I heard he was writing his biography under the pen name of Les Johnson.
