If the Islamic crescent becomes recognized as a symbol of Islamic terrorism, like the swastika became a symbol of Nazi Germany, it will be you that wants to change it.
He was referring to the monument and using the SC Flag as an example (a stupid example) of other crescent uses. The SC flag is not an Islamic symbol, the monument clearly is.
He will lose in the court of public opinion.

The crescent is oriented to point to Mecca. When you enter the crescent and kneel to pray, you will be praying in the direction of Mecca.
If that is not the intention, then I challenge them to reorient the direction of the monument by at least 20°.

I KNOW what they're talking about, Dixie. They're arguing just for the sake of arguing. I guess some people don't get enough of that at home or work. LOL! And some others just love to sound off even if it doesn't make sense. I was trying to point out that it doesn't make sense to use your state symbol as an example.
I think you are wrong about the removal of crescents everywhere. The significant factor is the orientation of the crescent. The SC flag's orientation is at a 45° angle, which essentially points down into the earth.
It just depends on whether the crescent becomes identified with Islamism, and how deep we get into this terrorism thing. With Iran beginning to build nukes, it might get really deep.
Then again, maybe it won't be a big deal.
Except for this Flight 93 thing. The Islamists are already touting this as a victory. That can't stand.
I read that, but still, the obvious symbol is there.
It can be arranged another way. I totally agree that it should be changed.
