Some important information:
Thanks to everyone for your generous donations of money and supplies. We wish we had the time to thank each and every one of you individually, but please know that we thank you all from the bottom of our hearts, as do the people of New Orleans. Our government has failed us - or worse - but the people are stepping up. Please keep spreading the word and encouraging others to send donations - our relief efforts will be going on for weeks, if not months, and we will keep getting supplies and getting them to the places needed the most.
You can always donate online via Paypal at http://www.getyouracton.com.
Some people have asked for a physical address to send money to, so here are two places you can do this. Our good friend Ward Reilly, who will act as our Baton Rouge liason and staging ground, can cash checks for us (we will not have access to bank machines in New Orleans to cash checks!). The best and easiest thing to do is send a check or money order made out to Ward Reilly and note on the check that it is for Get Your Act On.
Please send to:
Ward Reilly
645 Kimbo Drive
Baton Rouge, LA 70808
Checks and money orders can also be sent to my sister in Philadelphia - they can cash checks for us and paypal us the money. So you can also send donations to:
Rachel Garland
824 South Fifth Street
Philadelphia, PA 19147

Again, Ward Reilly is the guy who lied for years, claiming he was a Vietnam Combat Veteran.
They will milk the Katrina cow as long as they can.
But I'm guessing for the obvious reason. The higher the elevation in NO, the more valuable the property. Kind of a chicken or egg argument.
The first thing that glared at me was that Sheehan now has an AIDE.
Apparently, it worked because in today's USA Today, there's an article that the 26 estates of the wealthiest New Orleanians are virtually unscathed by wind or water damage. Of course, it could also be that the old white men who built these lovely homes in the nineteeth century, knew that one did not build below sea level.
Incidentally, the people in the "Uptown" (really!) section of NO evacuated to tough places such as Aspen, but they helicoptered a Houston-based private security company in to protect their property and there was NO looting. Now that's the way to handle a hurricane.
This reminds me of a story about a penguin that was driving down the road and his car broke down and he took it to the shop, and the mechanic said it would take a little while to check out, so the penguin goes for a walk and decides to get an ice cream cone, and he comes waddling back into the garage, and the mechanic says, "you blew a seal", and the penguin wipes his lip and says "naw, I was just eating some ice cream."
Ungh... Yes please, thank you.
Thanks kinghorse.
LOL! These people are REALLY insane!!
They COULD consider raising the parts of the city that they're going to rebuild. Do you think that would be too expensive? It wasn't too expensive to allow it to sink.
Big mistake!Who is she blaming? When the levees broke the federal government had not even arrived yet!I think she thought she would be able to blame Bush but "no cigar"!
Don't you mean HRHG? Haliburton Racist Hurricane Generator.
Har!
UDT Porpoises, no doubt
You're a bad man! You're a VERY bad man !!!
Cindy Sheehan and her ilk are barf bags looking for a place to happen!
I love these mootbat theories. I think the more they get out, the more rational democrats (a few really do exist) see that the far left is nuts.
One of my liberal co-workers who last week was completely convinced that the problems in New Orleans were totally the fault of the Bush Administration (she even told me what a do-nothing our president is)has now done a 180. Today she informed me that all of the problems were caused by an idiotic mayor and a totally incompetent governor and that the feds were not responsible. So, at least she has been paying attention. Leftoid stories like this will turn off her and other "thinking" libs.
You forgot to include "Dick Chaney's former company". That is a mandstory MSN directive.
