It is settled wisdom among journalists that the federal response to the devastation wrought by Hurricane Katrina was unconscionably slow.
"Mr. Bush's performance last week will rank as one of the worst ever during a dire national emergency," wrote New York Times columnist Bob Herbert in a somewhat more strident expression of the conventional wisdom.
But the conventional wisdom is the opposite of the truth..............

I heard Mary Landrowurboat say it, she's in MAJOR SPIN mode, trying to protect her CORRUPT local and state officials, one of which is her brother(Lt. Gov)

Landrieu was the first but I heard it repeated on Fox by some doofus who I didn't actuallly see.
My main criticism is the failure of government at all levels, most particularly at the local and state level, to evacuate the citizens of NO BEFORE the storm.
I sure didn't think so. my opinion of the way the whole thing played out was that the MSM, Nagin, Landrieu started the whole bash Bush thing in the first 24 hrs. But we all know that if the MSM and the Dims just say anything it seems to become reported as fact.
Because they didn't have restrooms! Remember???:-)
