A better question -- which few journalists ask -- is why weren't the roughly 2,000 municipal and school buses in New Orleans utilized to take people out of the city before Katrina struck?

I heard someone ask Jesse Jackson that. He said it's because those buses aren't allowed out of their jurisdictions. Riiight.

The author makes excellent points.

My main criticism is the failure of government at all levels, most particularly at the local and state level, to evacuate the citizens of NO BEFORE the storm.

I sure didn't think so. my opinion of the way the whole thing played out was that the MSM, Nagin, Landrieu started the whole bash Bush thing in the first 24 hrs. But we all know that if the MSM and the Dims just say anything it seems to become reported as fact.
