The film depiction of Flight 93 that crashed in Pennsylvania on 9/11/01 is being shown on the Discovery Channel at 9 pm Eastern time.
That is in less than one hour for people in all time zones that are on satellite feed.
A FReeper lost his Dad on this flight and wants everyone to watch.
He says it has some (but not all) of the real communications from the plane.

The show was awesome.
The way Keiffer Sutherland did the voice over and how the film used the "24" camera shot style was very dramatic.
So many comments...
Pride, anger, vengence, honor...all these feelings came to the surface while watching it.
You can purchase a copy from the Discovery Channel's website.
Would you like to send a copy to a unit in Iraq?
I can help you do that.
Hello,
Tears here as well,
MOgirl
I am so moved by the heroism of these 'ordinary' Americans. They were indeed the first fighters in this war on terror, and they gave us hope from the first day, that we would be able to WIN this war.
Thank you SO much for sharing your story with us.
May God wrap His arms of love around you!
WE WILL NEVER FORGET!!!
Does anyone know if ALL of the conversations on the plane in the document are from recordings? SImple things like one passenger asking if another is done with a newspaper.
Or is this just possible typical actions.
"I am appalled at the design chosen to honor the heroes of flight 93. The "crecent" design seems to honor the hijackers, as thier "faith" in Islam utilizes the crecent in symbolism. The "artist" must sympathize with the terrorists rather than the passengers who fought bravely against the evil that the culture of death terrorist represents. I really question the need for any memorial since there aren't any crosses in the "design" and there were plenty of Christians aboard.
There is no way that I can donate to a site that gives Islamo-fascists a memorial of their own on American soil. It's as if you're constructing a new place for Muslims to congregate and congratulate themselves....what a waste! How could such a piss-poor design be chosen to honor the terrorist's plans for destruction instead of the horoes of flight 93 in such a place of peace."
The fellow with the tattoo (from junkyard - toward the end of the program) was honoring the sacrifice of heroes that day. The crecent design only legitimizes the perpetrators of the evil deed.
"I mean no disrespect, but Bingham's mother is creeping me out with her smiling while telling her story."
Not just you. I've always gotten a weird 'enjoying the attention' vibe from her.
Have to give her major credit, though, for how calm and focused she was on those phone calls.
An angel perhaps?
Sure, I can send a tape or DVD (whatever they could play, I guess). What do you have in mind?
Because you are a surviving son of a national hero on Flight 93, I would appreciate your opinion of the proposed memorial?
Some people are upset because it reminds them of a red crescent.
You have FR Mail
After watching that, Flight 93 was on. That too showed American's rising to the ocassion. As one woman put it, amidst all the destruction of that day--Flight 93 gave us hope, because they went out fighting. In the end, it looked like the terrorists were more terrified than the passengers. The passengers knew their mission, just as Rick did. May they rest peacefully in knowing that their lives made a difference. I believe that is one thing that the friends and the families of Rick and the passengers of Flight 93 can find comfort in.
I am amazed at how many of these people are saying that the passengers were talking in a calm voice. I would have been so freaked out.
Is there any sort of tree disease that wipes out whatever those trees are? Just kidding...
If you go to the History Channel the story of Flight 93 is on again. The Discovery Channel had the story of Rick Rescola on earlier. I am sorry that you missed it.
Islam loves symbols. And while some may think we are honoring Islam I think we are poking a finger in their radical eye. I think it is going to be a great and beautiful tribute.
That said, if I find out that this was in any way to extend an "olive branch" to the Islamic world I will let my feelings be known...and I will not be subtle. I will trust that the panel did not do this intentionally - but I am interested in finding out. We'll see, but I am hoping this was coincidence. And hey, it can always be modified.
