"Independent" really just means indecisive, or even apathetic.Wrong. There are a lot of independent voters out there who are neither indecisive nor apathetic. They strongly disagree with elements in the platforms of both parties. So they are independents.

Not all are independent because they don't like either party. In some states, independents can vote in both primaries. In those states, some choose to remain independent. The reason I know is that some of my relatives do just that. To attempt to keep the worst of the worst out.
