If I pirate a movie from Hollywood I am subject to a fine of $250K. How ever if a high ranking official steals secret documents 50K and 100 hours is the punishment. Where are our priorities?

Democrats do not get stiff fines or even jail time, Americans do.

They could not have looked too hard during the investigation, if it only cost them $6900. If that was for any type of lawyer fees, it probably was about 23 hours of work. Not even a whole day.

He should at least pay for the costs of the investigation.... which I'm pretty sure exceed $50k.

This dud needs to permanently lose his Security Clearance.
NOT, just a 3 year suspension.
Had I done this, I would have spent my remaining life on this planet confined in the Disciplinary Barracks at Ft. Leavenworth, making little ones out of big ones.
Appalling. Simply appalling.

Sad but true. The Hollywood crowd will pass the hat and pay pants Burgers fine for him. And who knows what they will have him due for his 100 hours of community service.

or explain why he stole the documents in the first place.
To: JBCiejka
He should be spending the next 20 *YEARS* in
Leavenworth..
if it weren't for the corruption of our judicial
system by the ACLU & the Dims.

Disgusting how Sandy Berger got special treatment. The powerful protecting the powerful.

Why the light sentence, CNN? I want to know. It's not like you don't always find SOME way to "speculate"; e.g. "Sources say ..."

I agree the deal is far to lenient.
He took Able Danger docs and is free man today . . . and will get his clearance back again ?
Him and leaky leahy need to have their clearance pulled. FOR GOOD

I think we know WHY he took them. The tragic part is the political class is protecting itself here...all of Washington is complicit in the entire scenario around ABLE DANGER and what was known and what never was done.
MASSIVE cover up, IMHO.

He has, as long as we never have another Democrat POTUS.
And keeping Dems out of the White House is frankly more
important than sending Sandy to Leavenworth.
However, I'd like to think that in exchange for this mild
wrist slap, the Bergler quietly gave up some information
to the prosecutors on waht, why, who, how, etc.
Unfortunately, I have little confidence this happened.

I can only hope that he spilled the beans on his motives to get leniency, but I'm not holding my breath.

Wonder what he's hiding in those cheeks ?
