Rapper Master P has questioned Kanye West's controversial Hurricane Katrina telethon comments, because he fears the Jesus Walks hitmaker was merely hying his new album.

New Orleans, Louisiana, native Master P-real name Percy Miller-has lost family in the disaster and urges celebrities making passionate speeches about the tragedy to be sincere, because it's the wrong time to promote albums and movies.

Does anyone really care just what the hell these type of clowns say concerning any subject.
If you do you are a shallow nincompoop.

Yep, Jesse will definitely not be pleased by this. Oh, and Master P put his money where his mouth is, with substantial donations to the victims plus starting a charity (team rescue) that has already helped 100 families and plans to help 100 a month. I'd love to know what Jesse has done to help over there, apart from hogging for airtime.

I would love it if some of the more vocal socialist black elitist would leave the US and live in any country in Africa or the Middle East for 5 years. If they hate the racist US so much, then go to a different and live within a different, maybe better, country. And when they end up disenfranchised on European shores, they may just have a better appreciation of America.

They are not artist know one can understand ..

I used to like MTV back in the 1980s cause it had a great mix of music.

Now all they play is hate mongering gangsta rap.

Did ya ever notice all the videos on MTV are the same, with some underwear hanging' black thug getting pampered by a half dozen bikini big-bosom women, each of whom stroke him as if their ultimate dream in life is to screw him on the spot.

I suppose that is every gangster thug's dream in life, to have throw-away women fawning all over him, but it is disgusting after the 50th video in a row with the same crap.

Exactly! It's time we started laughing at people like Kanye West the same way we laugh at dogs humping a man's leg.

I read yesterday that Usher made similar comments.

Usher's statements make a lot of sense, both as to musical community and others...he reminded people that the city of New Orleans that produced such impressive musical influences no longer exists, that it's a thing of the past, and that the comments by these fringe people presuming to speak on behalf of "the people (that'd be black people)" are not making much sense.

Usher's an intelligent guy. So is Master P.

Me two.

When I grow up I'm going to be a rapper and advise the country how to act and live their lives.

Kind of like the Hollywood prophets, I will be a beacon of light in an otherwise dark and stormy night.

Let my peoples go

Very impressive. Let me be the next in line to support Rap Master P.

What is the nature of his loss of family?

What you said:
Why is it whenever someone of color says something against the U.S., the subject of leaving the country is brought up?

What he said was:
vocal socialist black elitist would leave the US and live in any country in Africa or the Middle East for 5 year

His statement was hardly "bigoted hate" just pointing out the loudest voices promoting racism in this country have the most to gain from it.

BTW, welcome to FR

I think one of the best descriptions of Kanye West's statements I have heard was very short and concise: a "mouth fart"

If you were really interested in a better America, work to end bigoted hate that you are spouting.

I don't know where you're coming from but being a black Louisiana Catholic from a Democratic family, I left that environment for California after college. I loved America much, much better after having spent 11 years in a conservative town working for a conservative military contractor. The problem was I saw life and a Democrat and left America for Europe (Spain) two years ago and was shocked (totally amazed) at all the things I tool for granted while in America. I now love America much, much more than most Americans and consider myself more in line with the Republicans.
