Immigration and Katrina - ping.

(What was illegal has now become legal in one swift stroke of the pen.)

==========================================

Employers won't be fined for hiring victims of Hurricane Katrina who lost their documentation, according to the Department of Homeland Security.

It is common practice to hire locals for fema staff.

I predict this will be an illegal magnet.

Imagine what the race baiters will say after this.

Call me crazy, but I believe a good way for some of these undocumented workers to earn their citizenship would be by rebuilding with their blood sweat and tears an American city.

After a year of service to America at minimum wage working in New Orleans they get a green card and fulfill their dreams and have a real stake in this country.

In other words, they're lifting citizenship requirements for labor entirely, given that anyone can claim to be a Katrina refugee without any proof whatsoever.

Last week, I predicted New Orleans would be rebuilt by illegals and Mexicans will probably be the predominate population of the rebuilt New Orleans.

I think EVERYONE should now write and call with complaints about this to FEMA, to Chao especially, who has been a veritable cheerleader for illegal aliens in the U.S. ("the United States NEEEDS these workers" she says on every television appearance she's made long before the Hurricane arrived in the Gulf).

So unelected, unaccountable bureaucrats nullify a law passed by congress.

How interesting. When were bureaucrats granted the power to run the United States according to their whim?

From WoC "news"wire - Speaking through a Spanish language interpreter one man, Malcolm Bridgetender, said he'd lost his birth certificate, SSN card, and drivers license. Federal and Louisiana state officials told the interpreter to tell Mr. Bridgetender that he'd be issued replacement documents and a debit card immediately. . . .

-Immigration officials insist the government will still go after employers who hire illegal workers...-

Still? I wasn't aware that they even STARTED doing that.

So then they also do not need documentation that they are
even storm victims?

Great time to pull the Border Patrol off the Border..

Have the BP been sent back to guard the border yet or are
they still in the Katrina zone?

What is the status of the records in New Orleans - especially the birth certificates? Did the records survive or were they all destroyed? Were there digital or microfilm copies stored somewhere safe? Or will every Juan and Juanita be able to claim that they were born in New Orleans and that's why they don't have a US birth certificate?

Well, that's one way to 'backdoor' millions of illegals right into mainstream America.

Why is the Department of Homeland Security getting involved in the hiring of illegal aliens by employers working to rebuild after Hurrican Katrina?

The Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Formerly Customs and the INS, is now under homeland security.

Oh my. I don't usually wear a tinfoil hat, but this is suspicious sounding.

First the feds send the victims of Katrina all over the U. S. and now they say, no documents required. What a dream come true for already-here-illegals. Just when the concept of holding employers responsible for hiring illegals was beginning to gain some support, the feds make this clever move.

Suspicious at the least.

"Why is the Department of Homeland Security getting involved in the hiring of illegal aliens by employers working to rebuild after Hurrican Katrina?"

I told my wife the other day, when I saw that Bush had signed an EO bypassing part of the labor law and allowing employers to hire at below the going wage, that this was the prelude to hiring thousands of illegals to re-build NO. Our government has no shame. They are in the total control of the corporations.

WoC "news"wire on the scene - All of us lost our IDs said Harry S. Truman through a Spanish interpreter. The smiling federal official promised to get replacement IDs for Mr. Truman and his relatives, friends and neighbors whom Mr. Truman said were bused to Yucatan. . . .

I thought it was far-out, extremely silly comedy but Monty Python Flying Circus was not about comedy. It was about the future and it's here.

Sec Chertoff is very much in favor of illegal aliens, in the same way as is W.

More important, Where did Homeland Security get the AUTHORITY to circumvent Congress' and bypass immigration law?
