Good post! However, it seems to me that my country has changed for the worse. Where is the rage? When I was just a boy, Japan bombed Pearl Harbor. To this day I remember clearly how Americans, including many of my cousins and uncles, rushed to stand in line to enlist. We were a proud angry nation back then. It wasn't long before our enemies learned to dread the vengeance of the "sleeping giant" they had awakened.
The atrocity of 9-11 was, if anything, worse than Pearl Harbor. Yet the outcry is fading, as "remember Pearl Harbor " never did. In less than four years, our enemies no longer had the capability to make war. Their cities were destroyed, and their populations were almost decimated. We had effectively targeted anything that could supply weapons to be used against us, with no compunction about "innocent bystanders" or "collateral damage".
Now that we are faced with the prospect of a reign of terror, courtesy of the "religion of peace", we seem to value world opinion more highly than our lives, our families, and our great nation. Our enemy fells safe from retaliation because they have no great cities and industrial complexes that produce their weapons. Instead, they have mosques and families to produce their "shehadeen" . The producers of these "martyrs" receive compensation for their efforts. they feel safe to continue the production of these monstrous "weapons".
Where is the rage we felt (or should have felt) four years ago? After Pearl Harbor our rage allowed us to fire-bomb Cologne, Hamburg, Tokyo, and other enemy population centers. We obliterated Hiroshima and Nagasaki because American lives were more imortant than any others. Is there any doubt about what these Islamic monsters would do to us, if they can?
Something has been lost from our national spirit during the sixty years after WWII. It seems to be more important to be "liked" by the world, a world which envies our wealth and freedom. They feel that we should be "taken down a notch". They know that we are gracious victors, but do not love us for that. They are also confident that we will not strike out in a blind, reflex response, that will dwarf the devastation inflicted upon us.
Once we publically declare that the next atrocity committed against us will result in a great tragedy for Islam - although we may not enjoy being forced to do it - Muslims may not be willing to pay such a price for their Jihad. The knowledge that they too can be made to pay a high price when atrocities are committed in their name, will make them more willing to take action against the terrorists among them!
It is very likely that we can do nothing to make them love us, but we can certainly teach them to fear us, and that is the raison d'etre for our military might.
Whew! I don't usually write much (keyboard challenged), but I feel better getting that off my chest.

The tears are streaming down my face as I write.
God Bless all the victims of 9/11, their families, as well as the brave men and women who have fought and died to prevent another 9/11 from happening on these shores. Pray for them Lord and please God Bless America. Amen.

Amen, FRiend.
I am afraid, not so much for myself, but for my family.
God, in His mercy, has spared us many trials - but He has given us our challenges as well. How we handle those challenges demonstrates the qualities God would have us have.
I flatly REFUSE to watch TV "news" today - my emotional stability will not take it.

You're right on target, FRiend.
The next attack on us MUST be followed immediately by devastation in the Islamic world; the likes of which have never been seen before on this Earth.
What has happened to us in the last 60 years? The Communists, homosexuals, and feminists have been in charge of the "education" and "news" industries. They have, over time, eroded the "pride" of being American. A few more years and the America our Founders established will no longer be recognizable.
