Down there, people are living below the poverty level to start off with, before this happenedUmmmm...isn't the mayor of NO black? Most of the city council? Isn't Lousianna a blue state? Why weren't these 'leaders' doing something about the poverty in their state? Kanya West is not a rocket scientist to say the least.

""Back in the days when it was time to clean the kitchen, I would try to sweep the dust under the kitchen sink instead of really taking care of it," West said. "and if you spilled something on that floor all that dust came right up in front of your face."
HAH, this comment is unintentionally very revealing! There are two kinds of people in this world: those who do a job properly, and those who "try to sweep the dust under the kitchen sink instead of really taking care of it." This airhead rapper has just told the world that HE is the 2nd kind of person, the kind of dishonest parasite that all the rest of us have to clean up after.

Err, Kain or Kayne, or whatever your name is; I have no idea what you're trying to say with that statement, but don't pretend you didn't grow up richer than most white people. Your parents are tenured academics....

Sounds to me that this individual, whom I never heard of, cannot even sweep a kitchen floor properly. Now he's a political expert of some sort. God Save America. And God Bless our Military!

You didnt know who Kayne West is? You never heard his hit Ho? Kayne is rumored to be thinking about going off on an experimental tangent, but if he does I think he will go the way of DasEFX, the Divine Styler and Del Tha Funkee Homosapien.
Just pulling your leg. I aint got a clue about who Kayne West is either. I strung the above together using a couple of posts that I read here over the weekend. I turned off pop music in 1975 after hearing my first disco tune. Im still hopelessly stuck in the Bebop era!

Mr. A$$T00L Kayne must have had one of the servants who worked for his tenured academic parents clean up because its obvious, Mr. A$$T00L doesn't know a kitchen sink from a rug.

I would suggest that if Mr. West is so concerned with the situation in New Orleans, he should go down there and lend his hands and his back to the relief efforts somehow , put his actions where his mouth is....

I grew up poor. Nobody bought my first car for me, nobody paid rent on my first apartment or handed me my first job. My parents were divorced and I ended up with an abusive step father. When I became an adult I became an alcoholic and built an extensive criminal record to boot.
Nobody gave me a leg up, I dug my own way out of the hole and I am sick of idiots like this West guy telling me that I had a silver spoon and all the advantages.

I was so ticked when I heard and read about what he had said originally but when I actually heard him I felt bad for him. He really is on the dumb side. I can't imagine him being able to make a living doing anything but appealing to like minded simple people on a very low intellectual level. Its funny though how the America that was set up against him let's him make a great deal of money all the while ignoring the poor of Appalachia.

You've got to be joking. "Engineering" and "project estimate" are terms that he has quite probably never written, spoken, nor communicated in any manner - not even in ebonical form He probably has used the terms in the past. In the present he's a poseur pretending to be "street", even though he grew up middle class, his mother being a professor of English at Chicago State University. His father is a former Black Panther who went on to be a photographer and is now a pastoral counselor. It's uncertain if he talks that way because it's his act, or whether he did actually manage to grow up that ignorant

"They have been trying to sweep us (African-Americans) under the kitchen sink and it was so in people's faces and so on TV... that they couldn't even hide it any more.
"They" also were the first responders to save the lives of many African-Americans. "They" didn't have time to complain and politicize the situation because "they" were too busy saving lives and continue to save and improve the lives of many. But "they" will never get the recognition "they" deserve as long as racist blowhards like this idiot try to keep other African-Americans on the plantation of welfare. If anyone has failed the African-American community and swept them under the kitchen sink it is their own leaders who insisted on parading around and espousing issues that did not advance them in the least.
