Having spent some time at Brown Convetion Center, I would rather that they spend their time looking for jobs and apartments than volunteering their time.

We (Houston) have the volunteer angle covered and we would much rather they spend their time making arragements for their families to start a new life in Texas, temporarily or permanently.

As of Sunday morning, we had 40700 volunteers trained and straining at the bit. We have only used 7000 to date.

People things are going very well in Houston.
Very well indeed.

And I must say, "straining at the bit" is a gross understatement.

Very glad to hear it. I agree that it would be far better for these folks to find jobs and get on their feet. What kinds of job aid are they getting? Would love to see a "career fair" equivalent for these folks!
