What a prime example of gratitude was just on FNC. $20,000 per person. Hah...what a joker.

This clown is not at all representative of the people who have been evacuated. He probably had problems in NO and he still has them.

Now you're talking. That measly $2000 hardly bought anything at all at the Louis Vuitton store, where several people had already spent some of it.

$20K will go a bit farther.

No one should be surprised. After all, we live in the age of entitlement and victimization.

I've been a victim of liberalism for 40 years. I deserve $20K too. LOL

I saw this too and was appalled by the likening of the evacuation effort to "slave ships," the use of the f-word, the labeling of the Red Cross and FEMA as "fruads and failures," and the insistence that he and all the victims of Katrina were entitled to $20,000.

Also saw the Red Cross dude announce they were looking for 40,000 more volunteers. All those who volunteer will receive training and be a pool of folks available for future disasters. Has there been ANY thought to offering the evacuees a chance to volunteer? Learn a trade or skill if they are unskilled? Put to use training or skills they already have? Put them in a position to use their free time to aid others? Give them the joy of helping others? Put them in contact with Red Cross and other organizations' leaders who might recognize their industriousness and all-around good attitude to hire them for a paying job? HMMMM?

I know I'd be bored to tears sitting on a cot and looking for something to do -- hand out food, come up with games for the kids, teach people to use the computer, sort donations, wash cars, read the paper to an elderly person whose eyesight is dwindling . . . etc.

Great article by a "Conservative Black Minister" Rev. Peterson: Government Dependency and Lack of Moral Character To Blame for Hurricane Disaster, in case any of you did not read it.

At the risk of repeating another post from last night:

Everyone on thos forum coninuously complains about the MSM coverage and how biased it is. This still holds true but you are buying into it like Demos.

You are being sold a bill of goods.

My wife and I worked at Brown Convention Center last Thursday and the people there don't resemble the slackards that you all so colorfully describe.

My wife had a woman come up to her and ask for some Tampax. My wife handed her a box and the woman opened and removed four and said thank you. My wife stopped her and handed her the box. The woman said "I'll just take these, someone else may need the others." My wife replied "Don't worry, we'll get more"

A man came in looking for cloth bathtowels. He picked up four and my wife asked how many family members he had. He replied "nine". She gave him another 6 towels and he was speechless.

One man picked up a toothbrush and my wife asked how many were in his group. He said four. So she gave him four toothbrushes with toothpaste for each. He couldn't believe that we would do this.

The evacuees are being extremely thrifty with the relief supplies. The people you are seeing on TV are brigands, hand picked by the media in order to inflate ratings.

Y'all are buying into a lie.

Bigtime.

I saw this, too. I had been thinking today that the NO evacuees were in danger of "jumping the shark" they way some of the 9/11 families did.

I remember Push (a guy who lost his wife on 9/11, wailed on Larry King and other places about how he lost his life when she died and then turned around and remarried before his wife's body was cold) told Feinberg the amount of money he was to be awarded was not sufficient (over a million dollars), and Feinberg told Push to please have a press conference and tell the American people that several million dollars was not enough for him.

The greed and political agenda exhibited by some of the 9/11 families made me lose sympathy for them and I see the same thing happening with the NO evacuees.

I gave $50 the Salvation Army last week and I'm not tempted to open my checkbook again.

AS WE SEE THE ATTITUDE OF ENTITLEMENT CONTINUES

This fine example of manhood is what will turn the US population against the refugees in about another week of TV coverage. The decent people will find jobs, while the pimps, drug dealers, and fat freeloaders will be making trouble and finding the TV cameras to whine to. No help for whiners!
