Gore Rips Bush On Storm Response (this is news??)
AOL News ^ | 9/10/05

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (Sept. 9) - Al Gore helped airlift some 270 Katrina evacuees on two private charters from New Orleans, acting at the urging of a doctor who saved the life of the former vice president's son.Gore criticized the Bush administration's slow response to Katrina in a speech Friday in San Francisco, but refused to be interviewed about the mercy missions he financed and flew on Sept. 3 and 4.

However, Dr. Anderson Spickard, who is Gore's personal physician and accompanied him on the flights, said: "Gore told me he wanted to do this because like all of us he wanted to seize the opportunity to do what one guy can do, given the assets that he has."

In the speech, Gore urged that the Bush administration be held accountable for the government's inadequate relief response, particularly "when the corpses of American citizens are floating in toxic floodwaters five days after a hurricane struck."

Bush administration officials have said Katrina's damage could not have been anticipated, but Gore rejected that.

"What happened was not only knowable, it was known in advance, in great and painstaking detail," Gore told the Sierra Club's national convention. "They did tabletop planning exercises. They identified exactly what the scientific evidence showed would take place."

Gore will prob want to conduct an investigation to find out how he lost not only his home state but his home congressional district in 2000. Global warming caused that, too.

Sweet Memories: 2000:
"Not only did Al Gore lose his home state of Tennessee, but he also lost the congressional district he represented for eight years...That is an additional embarrassment to Gore, who had never lost an election in Tennessee until Tuesday. It is also another indicator of the state's Republican shift in recent years. In Tennessee, Gore was considered a moderate until he started inching toward the national stage. Once an opponent of abortion and gun control, Gore now supports the right to choose and tighter restrictions on gun sales - neither of which plays well in rural parts of the district he once called home.

``Generally Gore just trended to the left, and I think Tennesseans want someone in the middle of the spectrum or a little to the right,'' said Rep. Bill Jenkins, R-Tenn. ``He left Tennessee. Tennessee didn't leave him.''

Several of the rural counties Gore once represented are now wealthy bedroom communities of Nashville and heavily Republican.

""What happened was not only knowable, it was known in advance""

Then perhaps the local government should have been more prepared.

HUH?!?

  1. Al Gore helped airlift some 270 Katrina evacuees ... acting at the urging of a doctor who.... (blah, blah).
  2. However, Dr. Anderson Spickard Sphincter, who is Gore's personal physician Psychiatrist accompanied him on the flights, said:
"Gore told me he wanted to do this because like all of us he wanted to seize the opportunity to (blah, blah)

So which is it?
Either Gorbot wanted to "seize the opportunity" or he was frigging oblivious until he was "urged" to do something.

Interesting tidbits here:

http://www.algore.org/weblog/janet/Othernews/?permalink=ThefullstoryofGoresmercyflig.html

(snip)
On Thursday, September 1st, my friend Jill Chozen of San Francisco called to ask if I could put someone in touch with Al Gore. Dr. David Kline, the father in law of Jill’s friend Denise Kline, was stranded in Charity hospital in New Orleans. The situation was dire and becoming worse by the minute – food and water running out, no power, four feet of water surrounding the hospital and alligators eating corpses outside. David is a neurosurgeon and needed to take his patients out of the hospital as soon as possible. David asked Denise to find Al Gore for help because David knew Gore from operating on Gore’s son after a life threatening auto accident nearly 16 years ago. (snip)

This was the doc that went with him, the one that saved his son's life.

Yall know about this, right?

Al's son was hit by a car after an Orioles game his dad had taken him to. Al was not holding the young boy's hand and the kid ran into traffic. His Dad, our own Al, was distracted and not paying attention to his son who had a serious brain injury.

So that was predictable, right? And what did you do dear Al to prevent your son from being hit by a car?

MY CAPTION:

Gore: "I did not plan for the alligators! I was up to my waist helping with the flood victims and one nipped my butt! I think I caused some toxic discharge as I flew out of the water. Call the EPA!"

Gore DIDN'T pay for bth...(maye not even one) but the last sentence in The Seattle Times same article says "Gore responded immediately, (meaning after the doctor ASKED him) to underwrite the $50,000, each for the two flights, ALTHOUGH LARRY FLAX, FOUNDER OF CALIFORNIA PIZZA KITCHENS, LATER PLEDGES TO PAY FOR ONE OF THEM".

What a PHONY story about Gore's Largess!!! He had to be ASKED and then soeone elsed helped him pay!!

8 years Al boy, 8 years to make it right.

But instead during your 8 years you fumbled the ball and thought more about being a Democrat than an American.

NOW STFU
