Legal Expert-Blanco was legally in charge of Disaster Relief
Fox News | Sat 9-10-05 | ME

Posted on 09/10/2005 6:27:25 AM PDT by MNJohnnie

Just watched a legal expert on Fox go thru the disaster event by event. Based on the Law Gov Blanco is legally liable. If lawsuits are filed, there is no way she can duck it. In addition, when Bush went went down there, he offered her immediate deployment of Reg Army troops, she told both him and Nagel that she "needed 24 hours" to decide. This is DC politics. As everyone from Bush to Clinton to Carter learned, Washington Politics are a whole lot tougher then local politics. Blanco is toast. EVEN if the National Dems get the "Independent Commission" there is no way to rescue her based on the Law. I suspect that is why Mayor Nagel has been so quiet. He found out last Fri just who was holding the knife in his back, and it wasn't Bush

"She should be tarred and feathered and run out of town AFTER all HER assets are distributed to the survivors of those who died."

The funny thing is "her assets" were(are) most likely not hers to begin with, if ya know what I mean. (nudge nudge)

Gee, How can we publicize this so the evacuees can take advantage of the situation and be on the upside for once?

Generaly speaking (in my experience) government officials are protected from personal lawsuits regarding the performance of their official duties.

That was HIS plan to fill the Superdome, yet HE didn't stock it with food or water for four days.

Because he didn't want them so comfortable that they didn't want to leave!!

The $64,000,000 question is: Who is keeping the "slaves" on the plantation?

The liberals pulled this way back during hurricane Andrew, when Lawton Childs took his own sweet time asking the former President Bush for "federal" aid.

There is nothing new about what these liberals do, this disaster is just the largest one they took advantage of, it liberal politics at it base.

Many of them are. Unfotunately our "National News" is more intrested in politics then News.

After all, it would not look good for a woman Dim in charge to have failed so miserably just prior to Hitlery making her run for the White House.

Ah........but the American people will KNOW that she failed miserably, and it just might hurt Hillary.

Of course the Dems will try to cover for her (they are dishonest weasels), but this tragedy is so well publicized, and the alternative media is so onto what she did to obstruct getting help to her people, that she won't be able to hide.

"I think the difference is that Nagin was just incompetent (not a rare thing among pols) and Blanco was unabashedly obstructionist. It's one thing to be too dumb to know what to do and another to wilfully refuse to do what you are supposed to do. "

Nah. We are giving these pols too much credit. They are incompetent. They think politics is about patronage and influence and bashing Republicans. They don't realise what an awesome job of leadership then have. Rudy Giuliani did. He was a former police chief.

From her resume:

[Prior to assuming office,] Governor Blanco completed two terms as Lieutenant Governor. As the state’s second-highest official, she supervised the Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism. Under her leadership, tourism in Louisiana increased by 41 percent. This growth led to a $2.5 billion increase in the tourism industry’s economic contribution to the state and the creation of 121,000 new tourism-related jobs.

Any wonder why she's a disaster? Her expertise was tourism. And don't forget that Blanco just won her job. Betcha $100 that all her aides are politicos themselves, not experienced leaders.

Ah, yes, Nagin's Navy. How unfortunate for the dems that these pictures exist...

"Nagin should be prosecuted as well. Those were HIS buses sitting there. That was HIS plan to fill the Superdome, yet HE didn't stock it with food or water for four days.
THESE are HIS people. HE should face the death penalty."

So should Blanco. The African Americans cannot depend on the dems to help them. They have let them down time and time again. It keeps them where the dems want them down trodden and unemployed.

1 - What's the name of this legal expert?

2 - I think what he said or meant to say was that the State of LA may be legally liabile because of actions of Blanco. Blanco herself has governmental immunity.

It is my understanding that the average time for FEMA's arrival is about four days. The media and Dems were screaming for FEMA the day of the flooding. Where is the perspective here? Brown was probably taken off the case because he is a public relations nightmare. No one in the MSM seems to have done any homework regarding disasters. They are just automatically anti-Bush, and fan the flames of Bush hatred with their insinuating comments. All the while, protecting their own (Blank-zero and NegligentNagin).

Apparently, Cancun had an evac plan just like New Orleans ... the difference ... Cancun followed theirs.

"Who is keeping the "slaves" on the plantation?"

They stay willingly believing the master's promises and are scared to leave based on the race-baiting poverty pimps statements.

Nagin could not let the evacuees be stranded
at the New Orleans city limits,
Blanko had to cooperate with any evac order,
which she apparently delayed in doing so.

NO!So he sits there and bitches about those people dying of thirst and starving to death at Thunderdome? At the same time they both (he and gov.) knew they had no plans to give them food. Plus gov. Blanco blocked the Red Cross truck before the levees broke! Did you forget about ALL of the ABOVE so soon?
I hope you're being sarcasitic, and not daring to repeat the Gov. BS reasoning as a talking point.
