Father Frank Pavone Schedule on EWTN (Supreme Court Nomination related)
EWTN/PFL sources ^ | September 10, 2005

Father Frank Pavone, besides the two broadcasts of his Defending Life series, will be on EWTN for EWTN Live on Wednesday night with Father Mitch Pacwa (8PM Eastern time, September 14, 2005).

In addition, Father Frank Pavone will be giving the Homilies on the Masses starting Sunday September 11, 2005 through Friday September 16, 2005. He may or may not give the Mass on Wednesday morning when he will be concelebrating Mass with Bishop John Yanta of Amarillo. Most priests will allow their bishop to give the Homily -- should Bishop Yanta decide to give the Homily.

There should be considerable discussion in the Homilies for Catholics (and Christians) to put pressure on the US Senate for the Supreme Court Nomination Hearings -- the need for a reasonable time period to confirm the next US Supreme Court nominee.

Father Frank Pavone is the National Director of Priests for Life, a pro-life organization committed to ending the horror of abortion, as well as the following ministries: NRLC, Rachels Healing Retreats, Silent No More Awareness ministries, and the Gospel of Life Ministries. Of the ministries mentioned, he does not have as much to say about the running of theSilent No More Awareness Ministries, but the other ministries he has an active hand in helping those ministries function and operate.

He also has established a religious order for priests -- the Missionaries of Life.

Finally, he is a priest in the Diocese of Amarillo, Texas under Bishop John Yanta.

Father Frank Pavone has been known for his devotion to the message of the Sanctity of Life. He was a good friend and devoted to Mother Theresa of Calcutta when she walked this earth. His Priests for Life ministry was fostered by John Cardinal O'Connor and also by Pope John Paul II.

Just yesterday, he met with Cardinal Rigali of Philadelphia regarding issues with one of his ministries.

He is a man who is not unfamiliar to the secular media as well as different forms of the religious media.

He was the priest who was with Terri Schiavo during her last hours and helped the Schindler family with this crisis.

His Priests for Life ministry has grown to have such talented people as Dr. Paul Schenck, Kevin and Theresa Burke, Alveda King (niece of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr), James Pinto, as well as some very talented priest.

There are currently 7 full time Catholic priests that help form the core of this Priests for Life Ministry. Including Father Pavone, they are Father Jim Heyd, Father Peter West, Father Walter Quinn, OSA, Father Denis Wilde, OSA, Father Giacomo Capoverdi, and Father Mark Clarke, SMF.

Some of the priests who recently joined Priests for Life may also be a part of the Mass this week, concelebrating with Fr Frank Pavone.

Expect comments to fire up the Catholic base and Christian Pro-Lifers for the John Roberts hearings.

First question of the confirmation hearing:

"Judge Roberts, are you now, or have you ever been a member of the Roman Catholic?"

OOPS!!!

NRLC should be NPRC (National Pro-Life Religious Council).

(I was only off by one letter, but it makes a world of difference! Father Frank Pavone is currently the acting head of NPRC -- National Pro-Life Religious Council -- http://www.nprcouncil.org

From his bio:

In 2004, Fr. Frank was granted permission by Bishop John Yanta to be a priest of the Diocese of Amarillo, Texas in order to begin a new community of priests permanently dedicated to full time pro-life work.

Good for Bishop Yanta.

The bio also notes Fr. Frank is on the board of Dr. Dobson's Focus On The Family.

Eek! Christians working together! Eek!

The above link has today's homily on EWTN. Sunday and Monday (September 11 and 12), Fr Frank has not yet addressed the nomination of Judge Roberts...
