Gay “Marriage” a Bust in Spain

MADRID, September 8, 2005 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Only 22 same-sex “marriages” have been registered in Spain since the law was introduced July compared to the 35,000 heterosexual marriages that took place in the same period.

The lack of interest in “marriage” by same-sex couples has one writer commenting that the move was a bust. “The so-called need for legalizing homosexual marriages in Spain has one big problem. Hardly anybody wanted it – that is except the politicians,” writes Spero News writer Robert Duncan.

Duncan quotes from the Spanish newspaper La Razon, which contacted Spanish marriage registries in order to compile their statistics. “This means that around two out of every 100 of the 10,474 homosexual couples registered in the National Statistics Institute census has decided to take this step,” La Razon notes. “The proportion is even smaller if we compare it to the roughly 35,000 hetero couples that have been married in the two months since the law has come into vigour.”

“Whatever happened to the so-called 5 percent to 10 percent of the Spanish population that were going to benefit from this new law?” Duncan asks.

Duncan also writes that there are still legal questions, as at least two judges have refused same-sex “weddings,” challenging the new law as unconstitutional. The judges have asked the Supreme Court to look into the law.

if we compare it to the roughly 35,000 hetero couples

Isn't that a smear?

Some may consider it a smear -I would consider most any comparison between hetrosexual marriage and homosexual coupling to be without basis; however, in this case they are realluy just comparing numbers...

I was more referring to the use of "Homosexuals" vs. "Heteros".

I have posted before that gay marriage licenses could backfire on the proponents.

When Gavin Newsome allowed gay marriage licenses in S.F. only a few thousand "couples" showed up over a several week period. This in a city of 750,000 that was supposed to have the largest gay population in the country.

Bottom line: the gay population, like the "homeless" population, is vastly inflated by libs to make it look like they wield some political and economic clout. They don't. And the gay marriage numbers prove it.

If they can call us Heteros, can we safely call them Homos?

Homosexual Agenda Ping.

I like good news. Kind of good news. I certainly hope the people in Spain who have not succumbed to the homosexual agenda insanity (and other leftist mental illness/criminality) will wake up from their stupor and vote in some conservatives, and undo the evil the present government has wrought.

Freepmail me AND DirtyHarryY2K if you want on/off this pinglist.

P.S. - BOLO for homosexual promotion on our very own FR - it's been happening lately.

It was an attempted joke with, I feel, potentially some basis; however, you would have had to know what the acronyms mean to get it.

The acronyms were defined/described in a recent DUmmies Funnies posting on FR that I read -they are used by and have to do with the DUers conspiracy theories e.g. 911 & President Bush

MIHOP = made/make it happon on purpose

LIHOP = let it happen on purpose
