(Washington) -- U.S. Senator Rick Santorum is suggesting that early mistakes in predicting the path of Hurricane Katrina may be a symptom of lost focus at the National Weather Service. Santorum, who introduced legislation earlier this year to curb the output of government weather forecasters, says tracking life-threatening weather must be central to what the agency is doing. 00149_ric09d.mp3 Asked about Katrina by WITF, Santorum described weather service warnings for Florida, where the storm first made landfall, as not sufficient." Santorums bill instructs the government to abandon weather prediction and data reporting efforts that duplicate private-sector activity. He came under fire when it was revealed that the head of State College-based AccuWeather, which would benefit, has given his campaigns thousands of dollars.
Cline evidently misrepresented his role at Galveston...for instance, no eyewitnesses could be found to corroborate his claim of a Paul Rever-like ride up and down the beach warning people of the approaching storm. He and his brother--also a weatherman--had a falling out in the wake of the hurricane and never spoke to each other again.
None of which has anything to do with Santorum's flap. Just a historical footnote.
And Santorum has only had one week.
ZOT! B'bye!
Santorum would make a perfect USSR leader who would throw the weather forecasters in a gulag because of a drought.
Well, has Santorum dictated yet that he wants the forecaster's jobs?
My, my. Not a way to make FRiends here, zotbait.
OH! I thought you were trying to trade off Santorum. The other guy is from California too :D
And the queers on his staff.
You signed up today to tell us that? Yes, sometimes he's a moron, but he's our moron.
We'll do it!
Bad, bad, bad, bad move. I had so much hope for him as of a couple years ago, but all that's been well shattered. Yet more proof ...
LOL!
We should give Santorum the benefit of the doubt considering the MSM's continual hatred of his family values. The MSM has been lying a great deal about Brown, of late. Maybe they figured they could get away with a few lies about Santorum.
Anyway, I am reserving judgement until I get some verification.
Absolutely. He has a history of wanting to eliminate graphics from the NHC/NOAA and whatever other Govt weather sites there are. (only let private companies display the graphics.) The weather satellites, forcast models are one of the most useful things our government does. ...there are no ads or pop-ups on the govt sites, either.
One time I voted for Santorum, never again.
So something about Santorum has your dander up or did you just decide he might be a safe target to gripe about in order to hide your true status as a troll?
I guess since you chose a rant about Santorum, all of the Democrats are doing just fine? You don't have any complaints or criticisms about any of those zany progressives? Prefer to eat on of our own?
Well, I must say, you're a better quality of troll than we've become accustomed to. At least you can spell and format.
Nice knowing you. See ya in your next incarnation.
Is that true?
The forecast was as bang-on as a forecast could get. In fact, it was even more accurate than any kind of odds say it should have been.
So, whatever argument was made is completely bogus and is zottable.
