Firemen, Doctors Scientists, Nurses and Teachers Top List as "Most Prestigious Occupations," According to Latest Harris Poll Journalists, accountants, real estate agents and stockbrokers are at the bottom of the list

Firemen, doctors, scientists, nurses and teachers are all seen as prestigious occupations by U.S. adults while union leaders, journalists, accountants, real estate agents and stockbrokers are all seen at the opposite end of the spectrum when it comes to having prestigious occupations.

Four occupations are perceived to have "very great" prestige..... The lowest ratings go to stockbrokers (8%), real estate brokers (9%), accountants (13%), journalists (14%), union leaders (15%), bankers (15%), business executives (15%), actors (16%), entertainers (18%) and lawyers (18%).

" journalists (14%), union leaders (15%)... entertainers (18)" The meltdown of the ratmedia is moving faster then we could possibly have predicted. This, along with the number for "union thugs" ( thanks for the term Rush)and the jerks in Hollywood,is more proof of my theory that the rat party is in way more trouble than most people understand.

What's shocking to me is that lawyers didn't capture the absolute botoom rung.

highest %age of respondents who said a given profession had absolutely no prestige:

1. Actor, 28%
2. Real estate agent, 27%. (Sorry, it's the jackets.)
3. Entertainer, 26%. (So actors aren't even considered entertainers anymore?)
4. Union leader, 23%.
5. Lawyer, 18%
