"that we could catch the hour of the show on the overseas military network (AFN) carried at midnight."
There's a story behind that, too.
At first, AFN refused to carry Rush. They said, "We polled our listeners (which was a blatant lie) and they don't want Limbaugh."
So Rush went on his show and said, "BS. Know what I'm gonna do? I'm going to poll our military overseas *at my own expense* and find out if they want this show or not." (Or words to that effect.)
The very next day -- THE VERY NEXT DAY -- the liberal slime running AFN caved and agreed to run one hour of his show. Of course, with commercial breaks, that's only 40-some minutes, as opposed to the hours and hours and hours and hours of liberal filth they broadcast every day.
Then, instead of splicing the segments together and broadcasting them continuously, they used the commercial breaks to splice in things that constituted spitting in the faces of Rush's listeners, like Jim Hightower's mindless drivel.
And, as I expected, they managed to have frequent "technical difficulties" that would black out parts of that single 40-minute non-liberal broadcast, or would "prevent" them from putting it on at all.
Never with NPR or Garrison Keillor, never with CNN news or ABC or AP news--only with Rush. And, of course, they took James Dobson off altogether.
I would really love to see those treasonous b******s brough up before a Nuremburg-like court, with similar verdicts.
So Rush went on his show and said, "BS. Know what I'm gonna do? I'm going to poll our military overseas *at my own expense* and find out if they want this show or not." (Or words to that effect.)
Truly sad.
Thank God that Rush knew the truth. He will never know what his opinions/ new analysis meant and mean to our fabulous military folks overseas.
