I agree...We should take encouragement from this kind of juvenile, dishonest garbage from the left. These clowns are completely unconscious of how most people really perceive them. I think the flooded church with "HELP" written on it indicates the artist's contempt of Christian values and his snub at anything godly. The naked buttucks of the statue is obviously pointed at the church - another symbol of disrespect and contempt.

I think the artist is also trying to convey that New Orleans will "rise again" from the waters by using the sign in the foreground of the cartoon.

Either that, or he's saying the left is looney.

It could be that the church says "HELP" because it wouldn't be clear if that were water, since it's so poorly drawn.

The fact that the cartoonist went out of his way to note "The Left" on the character who is speaking utter nonsense makes me think this was directed at left wing Dumbocrat lunacy.
