Yeah, that would have played out real well. Correct, the Dems would have hammered him if he tried that
But this also shows that they weren't ignoring the problems and were trying to find any way to get help into NOLA .. because the Governor was blocking it

Well, Bush would have been able to get people food and water to people instead of the inept governor getting people killed, of course the left would have called Bush 'Hitler' again and that would have been the story this week.

"Yeah, that would have played out real well."As if there is any action on any topic this President can take that would not be roundly criticized by the Party of Hate and their supporters.

My two cents for what they are worth:
Bad events make for bad laws. We need state governments to have the final word about their own states, unless they are truly being tools for anti-American foreign nationals or genuine insurgents. The insurgency act would be ideal if a state were hijacked by Islamo fascists, La Raza, or MS-13.
Taking away freedom and liberty over this is falling into the hands of the leftists. Sure, they want the government punished for not acting tyrannically. That's all part of their plan. Once the government is pressured to pay for the 'mistake' of respecting freedom, then the rest of the fight is downhill for tyrants.
As I understand it, this bureaucratic fiasco was due to local corruption, local apathy, bureaucratic BS, and political posturing. If the voters never get it, its their own fault if nothing improves there longterm.
